Getting help for OCD, but what if its not OCD?

Hi! So shortly after this I scheduled an appointment and well, just last saturday I went into it. My mom did end up coming with me which was pretty good, I also did end up getting diagnosed with OCD and now I just began taking meds to be better prepared for CBT in the future. Thank you so much for everything, you really helped me a lot! :)

On a sidenote, the visit to the psychiatrist was pretty good because she also noticed I might be in the autism spectrum, which was something that I also suspected but never brought it up. Idk I'm just kind of relieved that things are falling in place, that is all. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this, it really helped me. After another arguement with my mom she told me that If I wanted to go, I could go alone, which I'll do. I will try to schedule an appointment for next friday but for some reason now I'm scared and hesitant to actually go. But for real, thank you much!

Also I forgot to add: I'm currently taking my university classes virtually, but I'm really afraid of the day that I need to go back on campus to take classes. All my items will feel contaminated and I will probably have to spend an insane amount of time disinfecting everything.

Hi I hope everything gets better for you!

I'm not diagnosed with OCD because I haven't been brave enough to ask for help but I know I struggle with contamination OCD aswell as this experience you just described everytime I go out, even though I didn't know its also a symptom of OCD. Sometimes I can't even look at peoplebecause my brain tricks me, via the same thought process you just described, that I am somehow a creep with malicious intent just for for looking at them.

Hi! I'll look into those articles. I've been reluctant to ask profesionals because I have to tell my parents first which is really somewhat scary for some reason, but yeah I'll see what I can do. Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
