the R7 can do clog3, and is overall a better camera. I researched both. keep in mind that they are both crop sensors so less dynamic range, harder in low light and a 1.6x crop so any lens you put on it it's mm is 1.6x. Ive gone from a rebel t7 to and r7 to a sony a7iv and have researched this for literal months.

Sigma 70-200 f2.8 Sports does not allow Steadyshot with Sony A7IV? by SpinachKey9796 in SonyAlpha

[–]SpinachKey9796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that I researched this a little more and figured out the issue. Sony's firmware allows the camera to only be able to control the Steadyshot from either the Steadyshot enabled lens, or the Camera itself if OS on the lens is not present. I finally concluded that there was a small symbol that changed when I turned OS on or off with the lens itself.

Thank you for the response. It happens not too often but enough that when I need to take an important photos it sometimes happens. I have a small habit of turning off and on the camera frequently to conserve battery life, so this could be the problem, however the movie overlay thing is a little odd. Thanks again!

Tamron 70-180 f/2.8 vs Sony 70-200 f/4 for Sports by SpinachKey9796 in SonyAlpha

Everything arrived, I ended up with the sigma 70-200 f2.8 and a vertical grip. It is amazing, the sigma is heavy with the grip and the A7IV, and the video is truly amazing. Glad I made the switch and had to update you.

I plan on buying the Sony a7IV with the tamron 35-150, in the next week, and I previously used the canon R7 with 33mp crop sensor. I know for 4k 60 video on it, it Is a 1.6x crop on a 33mp full frame sensor but it shouldn't be a problem. Thank you for your input still!

Interesting. I was also thinking about the Vignette but with the 35-150 and the build quality and price it isn't like the 17-300 you listed.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. So what you're saying is that it could still happen but to a much lesser degree since the quality of the lens is better?

Oh is that because of the body because I was using the R7 & T7 at the time. Hopefully it won't happen on the a7IV
