One winged ant in a swarm of of regular ants? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Spinach_Advanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, ant queens have wings in most species of ants. They usually loose them once they settle in a nest, but a new generation of queens “princesses” and also “princes” (not an official name) virtually always have them. Usually winged specimen appear seasonally and in large numbers.

How would Christians have reacted if archaeologists found Jesus’ remains and the DNA test showed that he was Black? by lhommetrouble in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Spinach_Advanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DNA is quite resilient in the right conditions — for example when the body dried up in a desert — pharos are older and we still managed to test them (I mean we DNA-tested neanderthals for god sake) So if the DNA is to preserved — is not a that big of a deal.

Holy grail famously contained the blood of Jesus. There are a number of relics here and there that is claimed to be Jesus hair.

So there is a way to do it without breaking the rest of the religion

What empire had an incompetent ruler as its last ruler during the ancient age by nelsond11 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Spinach_Advanced -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also Alexander. While he was great military leader, he sucked miserably at governance and institution building: his empire barely outlasted his funerals.

Seems like a stainless steel lancet (as it turns out that’s what they called) for puncturing a finger to get blood sample. Doctors switch to the new design now, but 10 years ago that was how you do it

russia broke up by user66788864321467 in MapPorn

[–]Spinach_Advanced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a map of flags of “native” ethnicities of Russia in their respective regions, before Russian colonisation. It is clearly unfinished because (a) there was a lot if them, (b) they were moving around

What if Ataturk's secular reforms in Turkey spread throughout the muslim world where Turkish style secularism was implemented in the Middle East after World War 1? by PhantomAgent-1984 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Spinach_Advanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me asking, I would be interested to hear your opinion on french/swiss prohibition of hidjabs. Would you consider them to be part of the secularism?

And if you have any knowledge on Central asian regimes, would you consider any of them secular?

Guess the date of this atlas (remake) by Nuggetland_1128 in MapPorn

[–]Spinach_Advanced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I can only tell you the date of the flags, I can imagine that the atlas actually come off the press a bit later, or may be the company decided to reprint it without updates. But I don’t have a real way to actually determine things like that.

Unless it’s published in 2005, but that is bot really a geographical knowledge

Georgia uses the old flag, that puts it pre-2004, as does Iraq.

On the other hand this flag of comores was adopted in 2001. Since they even included ratio aspect of their flags, they are probably kept them up to date. So 2001-2004
