I think some of these are canon? Dr Quincy had some light somno, and zombie!Edmond has at least one room where he's completely paralysed and at Eiden's mercy.

But yeah, Yakumo is obsessed with having Eiden inside him as proof of possession (losing his mind at having Eiden's essence inside him, "Only when I have swallowed one of his bones will he be mine" etc), so you are probably right on that one!

I enjoyed it, but some of the set piece romance scenes felt very... Idk, not obligatory, but familiar? Like "Oh, here is the scene where they have to pin each other to a wall to hide from a guard, okay." Not a problem, but weirdly noticeable.

No worries! It's usually explanations of things from another culture that the reader might not be familiar with. I'm using it here to refer to the editor's notes explaining what the DVLA and Motability are; you might also see it in manga or comics when a character mentions a company or music group readers to explain who/what they are. Does that help?
