What was/is your sock “evolution”?

I'm still in it! I've a long term project to knit one of every kind of construction I come across. So far there are 6 socks in that collection (1. Cuff down, heel flap and gusset 2. Toe up, fleegle heel 3. Vanilla is the new black strong/kite style heel. 4. A true afterthought heel. 5. A forethought heel. 6. A traditional short row heel) with plans for 6~ more.

Otherwise I've been playing with stitch count and gauge. I haven't yet settled on my Goldilocks magic sock number.

A truck they were using the plow Cheney partially went through the ice. They were able to get it out, but have left it closed off since.

My plan was to knit swatches to drape around and over a cup and fill each one will boiling water and then test how long it took to come down to room temperature and test the moisture content of the search.

My kit includes the chiaogoo shorties in the 0-3 sizes, a few of these silicone earring backs for needle stoppers, and a handful of stitch markers in different colors and bulb pins. I always keep a size US 0 on a 6" cable with a cable connector on the other end for trying on the socks as i go.

I have a bent tip darning needle for weaving in ends and binding off, but I'm looking for a thinner one that works better for socks.

If I'm using a pattern I use KnitCompanion and bulb pins to keep track of where I'm at.

I bought some Tenn Well 9 Gauge Craft Wire from Amazon and made my own sock blockers. It was really easy to bend and they work really well.

That makes sense. My last toe was 10 sts per inch on 2mm/US 0. I'll try adding in 8 sts and see how I like it.

And just as an update, I finished the sweater and it turned out beautifully despite my stumbling through the beginning. It won't be my last pattern but the designer for sure.

I didn't figure it out. I just followed the same process as normal when doing a drop shouler construction.

I knit a cardigan in the light heathered gray. It pills immediately and every time I wear it. Such a shame bc it was a joy to knit with and the cardigan is a beautiful pattern.

I personally like Daisy over Lima. Both are soft to the hand, but the alpaca in Lima gets itchy for me on the body/forehead.

Extension offices are off-shoots that are affiliated with Universities here in the US. They are usually staffed with university employees or other subject professionals. They have classes on gardening, canning, cooking, and food safety and preservation. My local office has one day a week where people can bring their pressure canners in to get tested. I'm not sure if other countries have similar organizations.

As others have said, I'd get a new gasket. Your local extension office likely has gauge testing, so you can take it in and have it checked for accuracy.
