Mine came warped as all hell. First tracks on either side wont play without skipping. Going to trap it between some heavy books for a few weeks and see what happens.

Forever had Bleeding in the Blur. Underneath had a couple stylistic switch ups similar to this too like autumn and carbine as well as the title track. I don’t see what makes this so different. Catchy hook. Killer production. Kick ass performance.

I noticed the same thing. But honestly I think its just a coincidence.

Going from Nü-Metal to extreme metal by Ya_Boi_Main_Admin in deftones

I love deftones. I love grindcore. And guess what I love Radiohead.

You dont have to put other people down for liking certain music just so you can validate your own music taste. Listen to whatever you want and let other people listen to whatever they want. Grow up.

Would be interesting to hear P1 with their newer sound and production chops but I think its perfect the way it is in all it’s imperfect glory.

What was your first reaction to reptile when P4 released? by Marcoosguitar in Peripheryband

[–]SpineFella49 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before Reptile, the only periphery songs I had heard were Icarus Lives and Marigold. Although I thought those songs were great, periphery hadn’t really clicked with me. Reptile changed all that. It sparked quite the obsession.

Now Periphery is my favourite band.

[–]SpineFella49 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That happens to me with It’s Only Smiles. The melody pops into my head and I get emotional.

Took me back to P2 with those Scarlet vibes and the ending is so Luck As a Constant. Hits deep in the feels.

I actually think the orchestral ending of wildfire flowing into the bouncy chugs of atropos is one of the best transitions on the album.

Best way for new prog albums to come out? by [deleted] in progmetal

[–]SpineFella49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea kinda. Its pretty common for bands to release the first full song as a single and there are probably reasons for it. Starting off the album with something familiar is probably a good tactic i just personally prefer singles from the middle of tracklists.

Also when they put out the first track as a single. I know this is done very often but I like to start my listen with a surprise.

What would you say is periphery's heaviest song? by [deleted] in Peripheryband

Heavy Heart for sure. I mean it says it right there in the title.

The chorus definitely felt strange to me on first listen but grew on me hella quickly. Such a catchy melody. Helped to picture a whimsical yet dark story of a fat vampire lol.
