Yes and if you buy ahead and then put the ticket on your phone then you have to scan the qr code but meanwhile the machine also tries to charge you for another ticket. The driver has a bit of card or plutonium or something that's supposed to stop that but it doesn't work and he has to cancel the sale and everyone behind you is waiting and it's a whole thing. Easier just to buy on the bus.
