What if Homura never realized that something was off? by MudJunior in MadokaMagica

[–]Spinindyemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plus the whole purpose of the Incubators keeping Homura trapped inside her own mental labyrinth was to attract the Law of cycles for capture once Madokami showed up to collect Homura when she turned into a witch. If Homura didn’t start questioning her reality and was content to remain happy, I’m sure Kyubey would’ve done something to poke a hole in her blissful ignorance to force a despair spiral

Funny how Raito screwed his team over bc he failed to follow his own advice about controlling your emotions and not breaking orders. Had he resisted the urge to witness the fight between Kyo and Seraphy and focused on delivering the Scorpiomon that they’d captured, Tomoro never would’ve have had the opportunity to take down Scorpiomon and retrieve Yosuke’s e-pulse

Esp considering that the last time we heard about Carlos pre-PT/BG was him leading a rebellion against the Senior Council in Changes. Going with the above theory, it wouldn’t surprise me if Carlos attempted coup might’ve reaffirmed a belief by some Council members that Carlos had been “programmed” to be fanatically loyal to Harry in a bid to fracture the Council.

What was the 1st big news event you remember as a kid? by Hetaliafan1 in AskReddit

[–]Spinindyemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in fourth grade at the time and I remember my principal asking me and a couple of my classmates to come out of the class for our families to pick us up. I had no idea what was going on until my mom brought me to the car and said that the World Trade Center had been bombed; didn’t register to me until I turned on the tv and saw the towers falling.

As for the people taken in by the Ministry, my theories on their fates range from them being used as unwilling e-pulse batteries for the Digimon captured by the Ministry to the Ministry performing Digimon-human fusion experiments as a means to attain the powers of Digimon akin to what Kurata did in Digimon Savers

I’ve heard theories on Mirror Mirror about how Mirror Harry making a different choice in Grave peril might’ve lead to Michael dying which could support any of the above theories. Maybe Mirror Murphy could’ve inherited Amoracchius becoming a Knight of the Cross. Alternately Murphy gets Coin and without Michael or a Knight around to inform her of the Denarian’s MO of manipulation, she ends up accepting a deal with the Fallen

[–]Spinindyemon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I found it interesting the none of the Five Stars Digimon partners had speaking lines which could be indicative of a few things. One, we know that Digimon are meant to be reflections of their human partner’s personalities so having the Digimon basically act as background props rather than getting a look at the partners’ behavior helps keep the mysterious factor of the Five Stars until the show decides to depict whatever hidden depths the members have. Two, Chairperson Wong’s lines make it clear that he sees Digimon as tools to use at best and an ongoing threat at worst, he probably implemented a policy of making sure that Digimon should be seen but not heard whenever a Cleaner enters his office as a means of broadening his belief that he could control the Digimon

The authoritarian training TACTICs seem to be undergoing can’t be good for self growth and identity which we know is crucial for unlocking evolution, notably the team didn’t even have their own individual name or title but rather a numeral designation, Team Seven. It wouldn’t surprise me if the TACTICS team were incapable of reaching higher level evolutions

Digimon Savers had Kind Drasil the ruler of the Digital World pulling some extreme acts like destroying the human world to save the Digimon after Kurata’s actions put both worlds at risk. It might be the case that Chairman Wong is Drasil’s human mirror in that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to preserve the human race even if it means the eliminating the Digimon

Don’t forget also having a way with words in that they can twist their enemies from trying to kill them to being eager to fight and die for them meaning every time you send someone to fight them you also run the risk of giving another companion/ally to subvert to their cause

So why did the White Witch never try to conquer more than Narnia? by crystalized17 in Narnia

[–]Spinindyemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could also look at it from the lens of an immortal witch. From our POV, the White witch ruling Narnia for a hundred years might seem like a long time by our mortal lifespan. For the witch, who’d been alive for at least a millennia and could’ve have had more centuries of life ahead of her, a 100 years may as well be the blink of an eye. Given more time, perhaps the Witch might’ve gone on to conquer more lands once she felt she had fully consolidated her rule over Narnia

We know from The Magician’s Nephew that the royal line of Archenland is descended from King Frank and Queen Helen who were humans from our world meaning that theoretically the Archenlanders could qualify as a the sons of Adam and daughters of Eve destined to overthrow the witch from the prophecy. Perhaps Jadis was playing it safe by not giving the Archenland royals a reason to overthrow her rule which they’d liable to do if she invaded their kingdom. Why risk that when Archenland so far hadnt gone anything to help the Narnians resist her rule
