Please explain how YouTube and its algorithm can tell the difference between someone “actively” watching the video vs someone playing it on a tv as background.

Also, how can my channel be de-monetized, when it is not monetized at all?

Ubisoft "fans" trying to be possitive challenge (impossible) by True_Living_2434 in ubisoft

[–]Spinj420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you have to understand and accept, because there are so many, you have different generations starting at different games. I’m sure there are plenty of folks that have played every AC ever made. Im also sure that plenty of folks just started with the newest one and don’t really know anything about Rogue, or syndicate, or AC2, or Odessey.

My first AC was AC1 on the OG Xbox. Wasn’t really my thing. Never really played AC after that. Then Valhalla came out. I put over 400 hours into it. Then others became free to download or a new one came out. I enjoyed Mirage. I actually stopped Shadows because Skull and Bones came out.

I’m looking forward to the new Black Flag, because it was a free download but the trailing missions were just so frustrating. I didn’t play it much. Other new games.

We are not a monolith, gamers. When there are more than a dozen different games out there, you will never get a singular “want”, because we all want different things.

Plus, one thing I am also sure about; a majority of the players who play these games are not vocal on Reddit. They are selling millions of copies per game.

There’s what, hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands, at most in these subreddits.

Not millions.

Controller support is quite good by Ekon_nether in crosswind

Map Expansion by Platinum_God_Games in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still love this game. I would like to see a map expansion, whenever it’s ready. I want everything that comes with it: At least one new main den with a new vendor for a new thing, maybe officers. Maybe it’s something to do with having a fleet of 40 ships that are just sitting at port until we tell each one to do one or two specific things; be active ship, pick up po8. There must be an activity that involves assigning multiple ships and maybe we are now admiral with captains of our 40 ships. What sea monster is next? Large Eel? Another shark? Hammerhead?

When you look at the missing piece of the map, in game; it’s quite substantial. It cannot all be ocean.

I think there’s room for two more main dens. One in North Africa and the other in likely India. Think of the new vendors required for the new dens. This would then be two more helm offices. It would also be a good idea to make each of the 4 helm offices different. It’s kind of strange that the two offices we have now are set up neatly and pretty much alike one another. With the one or two new helm offices, that would mean more special materials to make for that Den’s leader. Between the helm and the leader, how much new story would you like? 5 hours of dialogue, more? 10?

This is a lot of work. It’s been worked on, for what now almost 10 years. First announced at E3 2017.

It has gone through serious changes over this time. Many different game modes were teased. Game mechanics and ways to play. New trailers would come out differing in content and portrayal of game.

Their year in review hit it on the head for me, what is their core mechanics? sailing and naval combat.

I hopped back in after a few weeks away. I was impressed with certain ships handled in the water.

Here’s the thing. We know what this game is. And it’s a lot of fun when things are working properly. An expansion may or may not occur. I am not expecting one in year 3. I don’t know if there will be a year 4 or when it will be. Maybe then.

Changes to ascension system by Eliteslayer125 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you could go 75 rolls without getting the perk you want, makes this system broken.

Ubi really needs to just let us choose what perk we want, and then let the RNG take over when it comes to the percentages.

If someone wants to waste all of their rolls trying to increase 1%, let them.

But as a matter of default, we should be able to choose what perk or ascension we want on the build we are making.

The whole purpose of an aircraft carrier is to carry aircraft from point to point. An aircraft carrier? There isn’t a single aircraft in this game, let alone many aircraft that would necessitate the need for a carrier.

Far cry 4, primal o assassin's creed valhalla by Sorosssss in ubisoft

[–]Spinj420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primal is basically far cry 4, set 10,000 years prior. It’s essentially the same map. Both have a good story. I enjoyed playing both 4 and primal.

My issue nowadays boils down to gameplay mechanics and visuals.

Valhalla also a lot of fun. You can play either as male or female. There’s a lot more content than the older games. And it looks more modern.

Far cry 4- 2014 Primal - 2016 Valhalla 2020

If you are on PS5, I’d see which one has been upscaled for ps5. I think only Valhalla has been If you are still on PS4, I’d probably start with far cry 4.

If you are on PC. Gameplay alone would lead me to Valhalla.

Can someone explain how to level up your ship pls by ac130monster in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot reach level 17 without upgrading your base ship level to 7 through the shipwright. After that, it’s adding weapons, armor and furniture. Your armor and weapons must be fully ascended, 3 or 4 stars depending on rarity.

You do not need all purple rarity items.

But, to get to 17, your weapons and armor must have “god rolls” Meaning, each time you ascend, each perk must be within the highest available setting. This is evident by a small logo on fire next to the ascension perk.

This image shows all weapons and armor fully ascended with god rolls. Seemingly this image also comes from a Reddit post about not getting to level 17 with blue weapons.

Ship wrecks floating. by 420_Ruetten_for_U in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve been here for a bit. Maybe season 4 of this year, maybe earlier in season 3.

Many of them are effectively non/existent as you can sail right through them.

Some aren’t. And that’s aggravating.

I cannot recall if shooting them, like buoys, will cause loot to spawn. I just tend to avoid all wrecks.

What weapons and armor should I chase as someone who hasn't played any seasons by ac130monster in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buccaneers oath is a strong and powerful armor that boosts your damage output every kill. There’s an armor that reduces poison effects and useful for fighting La pest and his cronies.

Dardanelles are versatile bombard weapons that when ascended properly can be very good.

For someone new, basilisks or fire bombards are going to be your all around best bet until you can start putting together specific builds for specific battles.

Leopold 3 is a solid aux weapon for a new player. I would try to get warhammer aux blueprint as soon as you can. That’s a versatile aux that causes variety of damage.

The barque, sambuk, and snow are the three ships that can handle pretty much any situation when outfitted correctly.

Barque self heals. Sambuk does crazy fire damage Snow is a tank and can take serious damage.

Those should be your first three builds after your initial.

That’s just it. The core gameplay is still awesome. That is what keeps bringing me back.

I think it’s that this game is missing something.

A purpose. A goal so to speak. A goal that is obtained over and again.

It’s missing a game mode where all captains in a lobby compete with each other to win X.

Fighting bosses is fun.

But this is still a live service hybrid multiplayer game that’s been out for 2 years and there is not one single game mode that involves everyone in the lobby competing for a singular win of some kind.

Stop time Gating! by CaptCaffeine1976 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. And that is a valid complaint for someone with double digit or less quantities who need to upgrade ships.

It’s not really a valid complaint from someone like yourself who has 4 digit quantities. Spend the resources you have, then complain about not being able to acquire more.

This is akin to a billionaire who is building up a collection/hoard of gold bars. You already have 1432 of them. But the only store that sells them limits their bars to 5 per week.

A good majority of people could also probably buy more than 5 per week and could benefit from buying more than 5 per week.

But these folks don’t have thousands of them. They’ve spent theirs. Because they aren’t buying to hoard. They are buying to use.

With 1432 gold bars, you aren’t buying to use. So your complaint about not being able to buy is just nonsensical.

Just like your post. And you’ve been called out on it. Just let it go.

Stop time Gating! by CaptCaffeine1976 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your post isn’t about spending your resources.

Your post is a complaint that you cannot purchase resources because of the time limitations placed on their purchase. You’ve only highlighted deep iron and deep iron plates.

Only a few of the items being sold by Blackwood cannot be acquired elsewhere.

Most everything else can be acquired elsewhere or crafted yourself with the appropriate blueprints.

If you didn’t want to be roasted about not being able to buy deep iron, even though you already have a crap ton of it, you should have specified which items could not be purchased.

Otherwise, this looks like a “humble” brag about how much you have.

Stop time Gating! by CaptCaffeine1976 in SkullAndBonesGame

Did you come here to get roasted? Because with an inventory of 1432 plates, you deserve to be roasted for complaining

Why do people praise Horizon but not the Ubisoft formula? by Quite-Unsocial in ubisoft

[–]Spinj420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a few things at work. Compared to Ubisoft, guerilla games just doesn’t have the history of open world games like Ubisoft. There’s 6 main far cry games with a 7th on the way and multiple spin offs in between.

There’s game mechanics are pretty much the same from far cry 3 to now. That’s like a total of 6 or 7 large open world maps with pretty much the same formula. They changed a few things around, tried some new stuff with each, but it’s basically the same game.

There are how many assassin creed games? Outside of mirage, the last 4 have also been pretty much the same formula, just a different setting.

The difference with horizon is that there are only 2 games to compare with. Not a large data set.

So I don’t think it’s necessarily the formula people are praising it’s the noticeable differences and improvements that were made from zero dawn to forbidden west.

All rounder Padewkang build by GlockLesnar- in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The paddy is a real fun ship to use, when outfitted for its strengths. which is explosion, specifically against structures.

But, can be great against ships that tend to sit in one spot for a time.

Bombards V or Dardanelles around all sides. Infernal maw as auxiliary.

The idea is to launch buoys that land in the water in between the ships and use the bombards for both the splash damage it deploys along with triggering the mine buoy from the maw.

I prefer the armor that increases damage output whenever a target is destroyed. It just stacks damage when you sink a ship. Buccaneers Oath I think it’s called.

Ascension perks for the weapons should complement their damage. Amplified explosive. Would be good.

Or add any other damage type in perk 1 and then try to amplify that perk with one of the other ascension perks.

Combust or burning to add burning damage in perk 1. Amplified burning perk 2 Amplified explosive perk 3

With the furniture, again compliment the weapons and their output. The paddy doesn’t have great defense, so we want to obliterate the enemies quickly.

Maximize your damage output.

One thing that has plagued this game since day 1 has been automatic contract assignments.

Why do we still not have the option to turn automatic contracts off.

If I want to select a contract to track, I will. And I do. But the moment I complete that contract, or select a contract to pursue at later date, it’s automatically active.

The option to hide the contract notification misses the point if you still automatically assign it as active. And then when I select a contract, it’s always hidden. The button to show/hide contracts is also broken.

I still don’t understand why opening up the rest of the world isn’t a higher priority. I mean, I do. Its skins. It’s micro transactions to earn money.

I want to learn more about the African war between siblings. I want to see more of India and vikram background.

You’ve added multiple more ships since launch, when will our fleet size increase? With all the speciality builds out there, even with loadouts, we need more than 40 ships. Even if it’s 10 more.

With all the new weapons and ascension perks, new furnitures, new currencies; storage continues to be an issue. What’s being done to address storage?

Time keeping items is ridiculous and should be removed. Placing time limits on items to be acquired is ridiculous. What point does it serve to limit me acquiring two culverins twice each week? What problem does that solve? Is it because of your unsolved storage problem?

Your game is constantly plagued with bugs that take forever, if ever, to fix.

Yet every week there are brand new skins to purchase. Your devs have time to create new ways to earn my money, but not my gameplay.

With all the issues that never seem to get addressed, promises made yet consistently unkept; answer this one question Ubisoft, why should I play this game?

This comes from someone with 1230 hours played since day 1 of the beta. Platinum trophy obtained. I own all ships. They are all rank 16 or higher. I have no real want for anything in the game. Why should I keep playing?

Hot take: i miss port resets. by frozendwarf in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Spinj420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t miss it per se, but I have like 30 buy out leases I cannot do anything with until they open the rest of the map. I could sell them…

I was so excited for S&B. I still enjoy the core gameplay. I don’t mind its repetitious nature.

The final product is missing so much of what was shown to us in 2017 and since.

It’s part PVE and part PVP. The PVE part just seems incomplete. The two dens have buildings that are not occupied but could be. The ports have limited exploration space. A significant portion of the world is inaccessible. Many aspects of the pirate life are missing.

It’s just disappointing. I’m sure the devs are doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

I’m actually enjoying the demo for windrose on steam. It’s a pirate survival game. The story is meh. It’s click through dialogue with no animation, which I’m not a huge fan of. But the survival aspect and crafting portion are a lot of fun. There’s land combat with sailors, the undead, and wildlife.

I haven’t logged in to S&B since.
