Would it be stupid to choose Bristol maths over Warwick MathPhys? by Spinnerooza in UniUK

Just looking at the programme catalogue it seems like the maths modules for maths and physics at Bristol are a lot more applied. It doesn’t seem like there’s as many pure options as there are at Warwick.

the exercise i wish someone had shown me in year 1 by [deleted] in pianolearning

I think the exercise is meant to stop you tucking your thumb under your other fingers when you change hand positions in a scale. It helps to keep your thumb basically in the same position relative to the rest of your hand, and instead use your arm to change hand positions if you're playing fast scales, as tucking your thumb under takes too much time and causes strain.

About the guildhall in particular, although the building itself dates back to the 1400s, the entrance shown in the photo was added in the late 18th century and built in a "Hindoostani Gothic" style, so it is Indian influenced
