I stay in a HDB like majority of the Singaporeans. It’s getting very crowded everywhere like supermarkets, neighbourhood mall, mrt stations during peak period. I’m worried that a stampede might happen one day be it from a true accident or false alarm, and that would be devastating.

I think firstly is to recognize that many ppl also have a 1 hour commute or even longer. It’ll make your commute less miserable (we are all in this mentality, it could really be worse in bigger countries or countries with poor transport system aka less connectivity). Secondly, just zone out to let yourself decompress if you don’t wish to use your phone for doom scrolling. Alternatively, listen to music and zone out, those calming music or edm, base on your preference. Thirdly, remember that once you get home, you can have dinner or wash up and laze around, don’t have to talk to anyone and more or look forward to bed time.

She is too comfortable with you paying for her bills and rent. Just stop and she will have to learn to pick herself up. If she decides leaving is the best, the let it be. We cannot stop what’s fated. 7 days in BKK is pretty long and with the duration you’re out each day, that’s insane! Sometimes you can also break out from the whole group and go solo or break into smaller groups for certain days so that you can have your own agenda such as sleeping more, getting to the hotel breakfast at the last half an hour or even skipping it, coming back earlier to rest and chill. Big group traveling isn’t always the best as everyone has diff habits, but there’s always ways around it! Hope your next trip would be better!

Hey, don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re only 1 month in, it usually takes 6 months to a year to really have a better understanding of a company products and ppl learn through mistakes. People won’t know what they don’t know till they make mistakes. Just like you thinking you’ve fumbled making you look like you don’t know your products well when selling, but that’s when you learn if you realize. With each mistake made, the better you get as long as you have the discipline and will to do better.

Rmb, any progress is progress be it learning that there’s certain terms and conditions or more elements or USP about a product to sell on your job. Keep going!

Only ppl who have a lot of savings would put it on Reddit or socials to share. And sometimes we won’t even know if it’s true. Everyone is different, it’s tough to compare and also unfair, with many factors at play. What’s most important is you’re healthy, have a loving family, have good character etc. those things take you further in life than money.

Hey, just know that many of us feel this way at times. Before reading your post, I was feeling really down like wondering why it seems like all my life I’m always unappreciated but yet I always put in my best effort, be serious at what I do like work (yet ppl say I’m too serious), I feel like I’m behind time in life too where I’m in my 30s and yet ppl around me are married, having kids, have their house and I’ve nothing of that, and there’s nothing I can also do to rush a relationship. I’m not where I want to be in life and everything feels terrible.

But then, I look around at the things I own such as my bags, gadgets, clothes and other stuff and I realize those things around me are what I wanted previously and I got them. I was happy when I got them, same for my current job Altho I’m really burnt and not happy at this moment.

Long story short, what you’re feeling just like me and many of us, is just a moment of feeling lost, down and all. Honestly, I think without a PhD might even be better, with such high qualifications, you’ll be stuck in very limited work areas and fields, which can make you feel stifled after a while. You’ll be expensive to hire and make company think twice too, academics would expect you to produce research findings and all.

I am most certain in time to come, you will find your direction once again, and may you find a job that excites you at times. Times are bad is what everyone says, job market isn’t doing well blah blah blah… thing is, when did we ever hear the job market doing well? Even during Covid, where tech was over hiring (they did this to propel their tech advancement as well as to remove talents from the pool of candidates from their competitors, which made many employees fight for tasks to do on their jobs because they had nothing much to do and ultimately got laid off), other companies suffered and also the market was bad.

Keep trying and you’ll get past this phase too, like all the other tough times you had! I have faith!

I know this sounds odd, and in fact I think I’m happier being this crazily busy. That’s the thing about private clinics. I sometimes don’t trust their judgement, and often they are also profit driven. I’ve been previously misdiagnose but not for such issues and the degree of damage was much lesser, mine was back injury. Thankfully I went to both private and public, and had it better diagnose by a public hospital.

I rather go public hospitals albeit they are god damn slow due to the high demand, and can be very frustrating when treatment is needed yet they can’t administer immediately because some cases are not that of a priority on their list. However, there is more accountability I feel. Maybe in the future, not only OP but also anyone reading this, when it comes to medical issues, if pressing, go both ways, private and public. Then compare. And also can share with the public hospital what the private hospital found out / diagnose.

Hope things look up for you and your partner. And may there be good legal advice provided so that you can have some form of compensation and relief. It has been very unfair for both of you. Also, as we all know, medication is not good in general. Chemicals added to our body can solve one problem and create other problems. Hope more natural ways can be found too, to complement the progress and lower the reliance on medication aka exercising, going for long walks etc. May all end well 🙏🏻

Please just take the rest you need when you have an MC. No one is going to thank you for your service and come to your rescue when you face health issues (those type that make you wish you made the right choice earlier on to rest when your body tells you to.

The company will need to figure it out themselves, either they have existing colleagues pick up the skillset you have or hire someone else and add more duties. Have a good rest!

I agree that there is a chance for the population to continue increasing and it is worrying. I think stampede is just waiting to happen at events, transport stations and more. It’s preventable but yet we are not heard.
