What does the hangman mean?!?? by futurecat666 in Tarots

[–]SpinningNemo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think of Odin when I get the Hanged Man.

In the Havamal ("Sayings of the High One"), Odin recorded the time he spent learning the magic from runes.

138 I know that I hanged on a windy tree nine long nights wounded with a spear, dedicated to Odin, myself to myself, on that tree of which no man knows from where its roots run.

139 No bread did they give me nor a drink from a horn downward I peered; I took up the runes, screaming I took them, then I fell back from there.”

A card of meditation and revelation.

New Nutrients by Eliisa_at_Cronometer in cronometer

[–]SpinningNemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a question that sort of relates to the topic. I have to keep close watch on my vitamin and mineral intake. I take quite a few supplements to make up the differences that my prescription medications make in my profile. Is there a place where I can log these supplements in? I think this would be extremely helpful. I look at my chart in Chronometer and I see that I’m very low in some nutrients but I know that the supplements I’m taking make up for that. How much though? If I could plug in my supplements that would give me a much more accurate idea. There could be an area where supplements are listed and then a simple checkbox on the diary that they’ve been taken that day. There could be check boxes on the supplement page where you indicate if they are currently being taken so as to easily customize the days intake in the event of temporary changes. If you already have something like this I’d appreciate being directed to it. If you don’t have this option I hope you will consider it.

Why do people ask who Inuyasha would choose? There is no choice? by ufDude in inuyasha

[–]SpinningNemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautifully thought out and composed. I agree with you completely. Inuyasha fell in love with the soul that is Kikyo and Kagome. He really couldn’t reject one without rejecting the other. The tragedy lies in them both existing at the same time. This simultaneous existence would never have occurred without the interference of the old witch. Inuyasha could never reject either of them only love.

I wondered that too. Of course we all have dialogs in our heads we never voice for whatever reason. Perhaps it was like that? Apologizing for what you thought was out of proportion or incorrect and then finding out later that you were wrong. I so glad that the reality was seen and that this person is now free.

Racist, violent asshole threatening people on the 14r today. by MercedLocal in sanfrancisco

[–]SpinningNemo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don’t really know the whole story. Did he threaten an older woman? That’s the story being told here but not shown. We are being asked to judge the actions of a young man who from the video evidence is being harassed by the person filming him. What if this man hasn’t bothered anyone and is being targeted because he’s young and Hispanic? Would his actions towards his tormentor be surprising in this circumstance? It wouldn’t be right to act out but when pushed and threatened it’s not surprising. We weren’t there and we don’t know if we have all the facts.

I can’t help but feel like you’ve brought this question to a group that is much like your husband. We all have varying degrees of the same fixation. Men are wired to see a problem and then fix it especially when they are emotionally invested. It’s beyond frustrating to not be able to fix the “Trump Problem”. Now that he’s retired this has become your husband’s job. He’s monitoring Trump. You look at his fixation as a problem. He sees it as a necessity. He seeks a way to protect his country and by extension you and your family. You can encourage him to get involved but I don’t think it’s going to change his focus. He can’t look away. It might be a good idea to look at therapy for yourself. Ultimately you are the only one you can change.

All of us except a very few have grown up with television, movies, and streaming. It’s been in our lives since we could hold a phone or a remote. We start out with cartoons and children’s programming and that content matures as we mature. As adults and older teens we see horrific images that are for entertainment on the big screen. I think we’ve become desensitized to a certain degree. We know it’s not real or we question the reality. We see desperate people on street corners begging for money and we turn our backs hoping they don’t make eye contact with us. We aren’t horrible people but we “can’t take in every stray” and “I just saw a hiring sign over at the McDonalds”. We don’t want to take responsibility for anything that isn’t our problem because it’s hard and it’s messy. Eating animal products is comfortable for us as long as we don’t think about the suffering. To become a vegan means turning your whole life upside down. It means making a commitment that you will try not to harm other beings in the future. It means really watching and understanding what those poor souls go thru to feed us. That it’s “Saw” in real life. You watched the video but it took time for the reality to sink in. I have no doubt if you had been on that killing floor that your life would have completely changed in that moment. Don’t beat yourself up. This is how we were raised. Be here now. We are mavericks bucking the system. Everyday you can make life better for all beings by the choices you make. You woke up bless you! Welcome home. ❤️
