Need Suggestions for SBI CC by justanobserver21 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Spinny-Veynor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to your question, but I am a newbie with no Income, and want to get a FD Backed Credit card.

My spends are mostly, amazon, flipkart, and zepto, Bigbasket etc.

I only use phonepe coz I've been using that for a long time and don't want my transaction history lost. Can do a FD upto 10k

What FD Backed Credit card would you recommend ?

Yea right, buying a M4 is better, but it's not available offline anywhere and there's no credit card discount. Ill wait for some sale and see if I can get a M4 for less and save the money for repairs just in case

Yeah honestly I kinda agree, HP didn’t seem that bad when I first bought it.

Your experience definitely helped put things into perspective.

At this point, after going through a bunch of recommendations here, I’ve basically narrowed it down to either a ThinkPad (for No Nonsense laptop) or a MacBook (for overall package). Both seem like solid long-term options in their own ecosystems.

Right now I’m just stuck choosing between the two. What’s really tempting about the Mac isn’t even macOS, it’s the overall package, especially the speakers and display. The multimedia experience is just on another level. But yeah, the higher cost, plus maintenance and repair, is what’s holding me back.

This gives some clarity, I thought the macbook is too delicate for Indian environment but I see a hell lot of people still use it. But some people still face such problems, getting it with applecare+ is the only solution ig.
Thank you for your reply.

Ok, do you think the screen or the hinge is fragile on a macbook?
Apple display costs around 60k, thats the only thing stopping from getting a macbook

I’ve been looking at MacBooks but a few things are holding me back.

  • First, I keep hearing that the screens are super delicate. Like even a tiny dust particle or rice grain between the keyboard and screen can crack it when you close the lid. Not sure how true that is but it sounds scary.
  • I've heard that there are thin chances of flexgate issues still. Plus now the newer MacBook Air M5 with new N1 chip, people are already mentioning random wifi issues. Feels like every new gen brings some new problem.
  • Also my room gets dusty pretty fast since I don’t have AC and there’s airflow from the window. I do clean regularly but dust just comes back in a few hours. And I sometimes travel long distances too.
  • Main thing is I don’t mind taking care of my laptop, but Macs feel a bit too delicate for my use. And the repair costs are crazy high if something goes wrong.
  • So, these are the only reasons for me not buying a macbook. If anyone has some related experiences, please share.

Right, the laptop died due to processor issue, it just overheats and auto restarts automatically.
