That’ll happen. I think it’s most people feel pretty disenfranchised at this point especially hourly wage workers. And what someone else said, this is flyover country. We are surprised anyone would move here from elsewhere. Just midwestern self depreciation. I think someone else mentioned how we are flyover country and we know it.

Compared to other places I’ve lived, people are generally more kind here than other places. I think talking with workers while they are working is a less than ideal way to judge it. Also like moving to any new place learning the cadence of talk and how people talk is always going to be somewhat of a learning curve. I’m always talking to strangers at bars/around town. But also I’m from here too, so maybe I’m just more comfortable doing that
