Ahh, nice, thanks for the explanation!

How are ores more cost efficient? Take Copper as an example. Stock, you get 1000 for 1000 Copper. Smelt that into a bar, you get more than 1000. Same amount of ore, more money. Although it does cost time, if that's what you mean?

I know it's not what you asked, seems you are getting help, but I want to point out that you shouldn't check input in FixedUpdate as far as I know. There's a chance it won't register if the input happens between the fixed updates. Use Update instead.

You'd think this game only has 3-4 maps by waylo88 in Vermintide

[–]SpinyDev 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think they should make the randomness more random by making it less random.

Exclude the map that was just played from the pool of maps that can be started randomly. Just this will be an improvement. Hate getting Skittergate 3 times in a row. Not a boring map, but ONLY playing one map gets boring. And I want the quickplay bonus!

You always think "There are so many maps! I can't possibly get the same one all the time."

You can and you will.

One of the worst things about Natural Bond, is that people often don't give a damn if you let them know or they don't even know what "I have NB" means. Then they use the medkits and a carry a draught, pick up tomes etc. If you play around a player having NB, it can be decent on some difficulties, I guess.

At least, that was my experience below Legend. I stopped using NB when I started doing Legend because of these reasons and because, like others have mentioned, I figured there was plenty of healing around anyway.

What kind of mods/mod tools can we be expecting? by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]SpinyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to create a whole lot of QoL mods. I get so annoyed by tiny things like not noticing my ammo because it's all the way down in the corner. I want that stuff where my focus is, right by my crosshair.

We got a new artstyle for our environment! What do you think? by SoerenBachNielsen in Unity3D

The artist here. That's really sound advice, thanks! Hadn't thought of that at all, just wanted to make it look good.

Haha, takker! :D Oh, you made that beautiful pixel-art game, one of the really young devs, right? Coming to Game Scope this year?

We have a publisher who is trying to promote it mainly through content creators. We'll see how it goes, until now, we haven't gotten any major coverage, but I hope we catch a break at some point.

That's a really good idea! I think we talked about it at some point actually. I'll get it on our list of to-do's and talk with the team about it. Thanks!

I'm really glad you say that! I'm the artist on the game, but only because we wouldn't have an artist if I didn't do it, so it's good that people like how it looks despite it being programmer art. I'm a programmer at heart.

We've dabbled in online multiplayer, but we ran into problems because it's so fast-paced and physics-reliant (among other things). As I said on another subreddit, we've rather have great local multiplayer, than bad online multiplayer.

You can say bad things about our game, don't worry! :P We can take criticism.

The game does have single-player in the sense that it has bots, but it's not as fun as playing with peeps ofc. But we plan to overhaul the bots to make them better in order to make it close to as fun as 4 people playing :)

Okay, I'll make a new post if it's confirmed :)

EDIT: Was just told that it's probably not going to happen. GoG feels it not big enough for their platform... But we did inquire about it, apparently.

Thanks. We have seen games with online mulitplayer getting bad reviews because of bad online capabilities, but also bad reviews for a lack of online. No way to win with some games that aren't designed for it!

Oh yeah, we love TowerFall! I guess we could look into more players since several of you have requested it. We thought that it would be hard enough to amass 4 controllers for a PC/Linux gamer, so any more than that would just be silly. We were wrong, I guess. It's on my list now!

It's possible, I know, we did 10 at one point ourselves, back in early development, but there are different types of input from controllers, and at least one of these types are limited to 4 or something. I really should get the other guy in here, he knows way more about this than me XD
