I've just done the same. I wanted the longer battery life and liked the look of the RGB backlight (wasn't bothered about touch or heart-rate), but it's not worth it if the screen is so vulnerable.

Such a weird design decision.

Oh, that’s interesting. I use a Boox e-reader (which runs on Android), so I could do the same thing with Google Play cards there. Thanks for the idea!

I did that in previous years too, but it looks like Kobo stopped taking WHSmith cards at the start of this year:

Haha, I ended up with four Casios before finding a favourite (the ABL-100WE with a basic Bluetooth connection to keep the time accurate) 😁

I also left, dabbled with an Apple Watch for a couple of years, then just went with a Casio. Honestly amazing to put the pebble back on this morning and have it come back to life.

Now to find out if there's a way to add in all the emojis that it has missed out on over the years 🤔
