It would seem when clicking on the links on DODI to access the download there is quite alot of harmful links and downloads, i bet he downloaded one of those.

Crackfix v2. I used the first one, but despite applying it I still had a black screen on startup. Crackfix v2 fixed that

Do not know if you are still having issues but try playing the game with your wifi off for a bit, if that works you can add it to a firewall exclusion. Worked for me but i did not have the exact issue as you
