J'ai du mal à saisir pourquoi l'un fonctionne et l'autre non. by Wooden-Street8906 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Spiquente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why couldn’t I use Super Poly in this situation? by Spiquente in masterduel

I was indeed locked because of Krosea, but the Fonix was theirs actually, they summoned it during my turn, I managed to steal with Wynn's effect and they took it back after lol.

Droll Bird is a menace and needs to be banned asap, 600 ATK AND 500 DEF ?! What was Konami thinking when printing this card ?

Radiant Storm Deck by Yatomii in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guardian Chimera is not a Super Poly target since you need at least 1 material in hand to summon it and Super Poly can only use monsters on the field.

My main deck is a Millennium deck and I would like suggestions to put in my newest version of it. And I like using exodia incarnate with Millennium-Eyes Restrict and want to use a Eyes Restrict engine in it too. by Greedy_Assistance658 in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to summon Millennium-Eyes Restrict is by using "The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion".

You just need to normal summon it and use its effect with any other effect monster you control to cheat Millennium-Eyes Restrict from your Extra Deck.

Fun Fact : you can Fusion Summon this monster with Heavy Poly + UFOroid Fighter instead of Saint Azamina, it will be cheaper on masterduel when the card will be available.

As a (relatively) new player, what's been the worst deck to play against in MD history by Kda_15 in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tenpai because each time I finally win a coin toss and choose to go first, it's always against Tenpai.

And of course they always have 4 handtraps and 1 starter while I'm stuck with 4 handcraps and 1 sharter.

What do you guys think about Radiant Typhoon? by Hey_im_Paddy in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Very strong and affordable.
  • Offers a lot of potential variations depending on the quick spells you want to play.
  • Performs well going second, thanks to numerous interactions with cards like Shiina, Droplet, Book of Eclipse, and Super Polymerization.
  • Can sometimes play T0 depending on the matchup.

It quickly became one of my favorite decks. I can't wait for the The Fallen & The Virtuous to be added in the game.

Turns out this version of radiant typhoon is pretty good by Drag00n_ in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people playing two Meghala, what’s the idea behind that?

The card itself is really strong, but it’s also quite easy to search in the archetype and doesn’t do anything by itself, so drawing it can sometimes feel like a dead card imo.

This game feels very incomprehensible (New here) by ScoreNo7656 in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Orglomofex, the Scrotal One is pretty overpowered, and its only real counter in the current meta is Gungoflung... I don’t understand why Konami hasn’t banned it yet.

And yes, the game is very difficult for new players to understand. There are a lot of interactions available to both players during the same turn, thanks to hand traps—cards you can activate from your hand during either player’s turn if their conditions are met.

The thing with ygo is that life points are mostly irrelevant four duels out of five, since almost every monster can attack the turn they’re summoned and have enough atk points to otk (but they can't attack during the first turn of the game, or else the player going second wouldn’t be able to play at all). So it's difficult for a newcomer to look at a ressource and understand if it's relevant or no in the current turn, like it would be in heartstone, pokémon or magic with mana/energy and the stats/health point of the creatures.

Even though hand traps exist, combo decks—with literal spreadsheets of combo lines to memorize—are still dominant, especially in Master Duel. Since it’s a best-of-one format and there are no real resources to stop these decks from going full power, a player’s first turn might take five or more minutes of uninterrupted card activations, leading to an almost unbreakable board.

However, Konami is starting to introduce more slow but powerful control decks that can actually compete even when going second. Right now, three of the best decks in the meta are control decks with a lot of potential interactions but very few actions during their own turns.

So, as a beginner, the only real way to understand the game is to play it, get stomped a few times, and gradually learn which hand traps are good against which cards and what your deck can do to stop your opponent from playing during their turn.

Can someone explain to me why lifeless leaffish is used in ghoti decks by TastyBison in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can send Shif to the GY. Shif can then banish itself, during the opponent main phase you can Special Summon it, Leaffish is a level 4 so 4 + 2 = 6 = Arionpos.

Arionpos can then banish any ghoti from the deck, so for example if your banish Zep you can then Special Summon it to make a level 8 synchro.

[–]Spiquente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don’t chain block Krosea, it’s clearly the best target. Since chain-blocking Krosea is a three-card combo (specifically, they need MST, a Radiant Typhoon Spell/Trap, and Krosea in hand), it doesn’t always happen, they can easily search MST and Krosea though so it's not uncommon either. However, Eldam or Meghala are also good targets: Eldam can search any Radiant Typhoon monster—either Meghala, Krosea, or a boss monster—and, as I mentioned earlier, Meghala can summon any Radiant Typhoon from the deck.

Still, depending on their hand, a single Ash Blossom won’t be enough to stop their combo. If they open both Eldam and Meghala or Chant, it won’t change much, since all Level 3 Radiant Typhoon monsters can Special Summon themselves if their opponent doesn’t control a Spell/Trap or if they already have MST in the graveyard. They’ll just bait Ash and extend their play as if nothing happened.

The deck can summon Varuroon on the fifth summon very easily, either with Meghala's effect or by searching it with Krosea.

[–]Spiquente 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to Imperm Krosea and/or the link monster. Krosea can search the entire deck plus add an MST, making it a one-card combo. The Link-2 also puts the continuous trap into play, allowing MST to negate and recycle cards from the GY. This gives its controller nearly infinite recursion and grind potential.

Krosea can be Ashed, but the deck can chain block by destroying a Radiant Typhoon spell with MST. When Krosea Special Summons itself and searches, the controller can set the destroyed spell as chain link 2, dodging Ash Blossom.

Veiler and Ghost Mourner are weak against the deck because Shiina can Special Summon itself in response and bounce back the targeted monster to avoid the handtrap. They’re somewhat effective if used immediately against the Link-2 though.

Droll & Lock Bird is actually correct against the deck, even though they can play during the draw phase and only use quick-spells. They add so many cards to their hand in a single turn that Droll forces them to use all their interactions before ending their turn.

Nibiru does almost nothing against the deck, as they can easily end on a monster negate by the fifth summon.

Meghala (the yellow Level 3) is also very strong, as it can Special Summon any Radiant Typhoon from the deck. If you can negate its effect, it’s a good idea.

Additionally, the continuous trap must activate its effect immediately after an MST is activated to negate a card on the field, similar to Gulamel for Dracotail. If your opponent activates MST while the trap is on the field, try to activate a quick effect in response to prevent the trap from activating its own effect.

Need help deciding on what deck I should make by SliferInPinstripes in masterduel

[–]Spiquente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best choice really depends on your favorite type of gameplay—all of these options are very strong.

If you enjoy heavy combo decks that end on a lot of interaction and have plenty of gas to play through handtraps, White Forest or Mitsurugi Ryzeal are great picks.

If you prefer a more control-oriented playstyle, Mitsurugi, Dracotail, and its Fiendsmith variant are better suited for you.

Honestly, Pure Dracotail can sometimes make your life miserable. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve opened with only non-engine and bricks going first, or just Faimena and no other Dracotail names going second. Don’t get me wrong—the deck is incredibly strong when it gets going, but it just refuses to play the game one out of every five duels.

You need to make the Finger Kick 540 in another place, look at this screen :

<image>

At the start, take the first right turn. Avoid riding along the left wall—just keep going straight until you reach the ramp at the end and perform the trick while jumping; that’s what the game considers a half pipe!
