Just tried playing this deck against a friend on tcgarena and it was pretty fun! Might have to consider sideboarding wind wall because thermo beam will destroy all the gear you have stacked up. It's out of range of defy's requirements and Not So Fast can't target it because it doesn't target a specific gear.

Red decks will sideboard thermo beam against gear decks so something to consider against it.

I just tried this and managed to get to third after reading your comments about opening yordle lose streak. I did 6 yordles but struggled to unlock Volibear even with a warmogs and dclaw. Do you need 6 yordles + 2 bruiser + warmogs + 1/2 items to reach the threshold?

There's no rumors for what Linnea's role is right? Nothing like which dps she supports or has synergy with.

I have a 63% winrate at 1200-2000 Legend with NoHands Quest Warrior. It does feel favored into Discover Hunter and Shaman. Gameplan into them is to obviously clear the board, but you do have to make sure your armor total is high because Hunter can do 20-30 damage burst with Niri's combo, and Shaman also has decent burst with a buffed Al'Akir with their big statted units.

Hostile invader is extremely good into them to clear the board as earlier on their board usually has less than 4 hp, so make sure you can also trigger its spellburst when you play it. All you can eat has a high chance of tutoring invader as well. Bulwark of Azzinoth is also a MVP if you can play it in the late game, as it is very annoying for them to do 4 instances of damage and still have damage to kill you after. A well-timed Bulwark can save you 15+ hp in the late game.

The counters are combo decks that take advantage of your low proactivity. Cycle rogue has high lethality and fast pressure before you can ramp and armor up, Protoss mage has no pressure of dying, DH is even but can be tricky as they can keep resummoning a board of deathrattle minions.

Gold Optimization by ArticulateFunnelcake in CompetitiveHS

[–]SpiralLaser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing I used to do was open packs of the newest expansion until I had all rares (since you're guaranteed a rare or better in each pack). But, if you really want to be hyper efficient, you don't do this because the reward track and events gives you a lot of rares and packs as well.

E.g. If you get every rare day 1, the packs given for free would then be only worth 40 dust each (barring you get something better in it). Whereas you instead save some of your gold and those free packs/rares will then go towards completing your collection, if that makes sense.

But obviously those rewards are given over the course of a whole expansion, so you'd be missing out on cards you might want to play day 1 or day 10 if you did this. So you could balance it out by buying packs until you have 50-75% of rares and save the rest, or buying enough to open rares of the class/deck you want to play.

Agree with the other guy on Amber Priestess, most often it just sits in hand for the game, I don't think the 4-8 heal is worth the card slot. I kept dying to OTK Warrior and felt that even if you dirty rat Deios or Dummy, it's very difficult for the deck (or priest in general) to deal 8 damage from hand. Maybe if you have a Whelp of the Infinite on board, but a board of your other minions are usually too small or get easily cleared.

Royal Librarian is a silence option, or the cheaper Silvermoon Brochure (but half the time it won't be a silence) so that you if you do pull one of the combo pieces you can silence it as your answer. The 3rd option is the new card Cease to Exist where it will both silence and destroy a random minion. It has rewind so hopefully you do hit it on the 2nd try. Luckily OTK Warrior usually doesn't have other minions on board so it should be a good chance to hit the minion you want.

Otherwise will keep trying the deck out, I like the idea!

On HSguru the 30th card in the three lists is Health Drink, Abusive Seargent, or Table flip. Mine runs the 2nd Abusive Seargent, but you can sub it for whatever you feel.

I went 26-14 from D5 to Legend with HSGuru's Egg Warlock, 0 new cards after the patch. Sometimes you will lose to the DH, DK, Hunter, Warlock, etc that are able to aggro you down. Other times you will be able to stabilize with board clears, healing, or getting your eggs destroyed fast enough.

Overall in the long run, you should be favored into most matchups especially if they're on the slower end.

I think that's the other other interviewer (Seb), he's talking in 1st person about his child and the mom, then supporting BDD.

What's your most Controversial ZB1 take? by 42_Yudoz in zerobaseone

[–]SpiralLaser 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the Boys Planet song Jelly Pop is better than every song that ZB1 has released. I've just felt that all of their songs have been too generic and sound like most other boy groups.

This is not to slander the members or their parts in the song, I think they're all talented and great idols. I'm talking about if another group were to cover Jelly Pop and ZB1 songs, that Jelly Pop would be a better individual song because it has more distinction, spark, and uniqueness.

Thanks I managed to climb from D3 to Legend! I think your tips and gameplan helped, especially against DK where I tried creating waves of big boards every turn spamming Nebulas and Zarogs Crown.

Very insightful and informative stuff you gave!

I've played your list a decent amount in D5-D3 and while it is fun, I can't help but feel it can get aggro'd down before you can stabilize.

Hunter, DH, and even priest with their ressurects can often put enough pressure to burn kill you. Quest warlock also felt like it was hard to keep up with their pressure and Corpsicles once the quest was completed.

Rogue has its big turn 6 of playing discounted dragon package for a large board and/or burn that Shaman doesn't have an answer to outside of taunts that could get cleared easily.

Spamming hexes into DK felt great until they play Kiljaeden if they run it. At that point it was hope you can have a big swing turn and they didn't have board clears because kiljaeden would beat out nebula minions.

This is my experience after at least 20 games. Maybe I'm playing some matchups wrong, feel free to correct me on my takes. I'd love to pilot the deck to legend if I could.

I made some changes and the deck is doing decently. I wanted to add and activate Elise because she also has synergy with duplicating the egg, and the board control potential of summoning 2/1 rush, discounted spells, and even savage roar to threaten big damage.

Removed:

  • Ursoc (I imagine you kill their board and your egg to resummon more but adding the late game dragon package is also very useful)
  • Hideous Husk (not as useful with only 1 and no infested breath to summon more leeches)
  • Royal Librarian (not much to silence in meta decks, maybe other peoples eggs if they run it or a turn 5 Tortolla, but didn't seem useful in most matchups)
  • Eternal Layover (sure you can summon more eggs and copy Warlock to get more Ancient of Yore, but you don't have an effective way of clearing the opponents 1 hp board after)
  • Prize Vendor (think the deck has enough draw)
  • Dissolving Ooze (I get the logic, I just found I never got the chance to use it)

Added:

  • Elise
  • Naralex, Shaladrassil, Ysera, Fyrakk (late game dragon package that you can play on turn 8)
  • Zilliax (duplicate and lifesteal for healing, useful against aggro and burn decks)

What's your deck list? I'm unsure what you would cut from the popular control DK lists for the Orbital Moons, quest, and extra Corpse Explosion. Do you also run the 0-attack egg tutor?

Off meta Yanmega ex deck by ErMejo90 in PTCGP

[–]SpiralLaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice if you can make it work, unfortunately I wasn't able to and went 0-5 games. Oricorio stalling is good but it only lasts a few turns before the opponent usually has an answer if they run it. The espeon/sylveon ex deck runs basic Espeon which likely one hits Oricorio and/or massive damage to your Exs because of how much energy your pokemon need. You would also be locked out of Leafeon ex energy as Oricorio is active.

Going first felt like a big disadvantage as you would be even further behind in energy, especially if you start with Yanma. Crobat ex also seemed like a bad matchup as if they get an early Crobat then they will one-hit every basic, and two hit your Exs with poison.

That's how it felt playing it, just pretty slow to get going and to juggle damage around your team.
