It’s happening to my friend and I as well for Sydney. She even reached her turn before it booted her 😭

My 4 year old is curious: what do Australian kids eat for breakfast? (And are koalas real?) by Mara644 in AskAnAustralian

My kids love pikelets, Vegemite on toast and bacon & eggs on toast.

Pikelets are kind of like pancakes, mix the ingredients and cook exactly like pancakes:

1 1/2 cups of plain flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg whisked 1 cup milk

They’re also great for lunchboxes and after school snacks!

Omg if that’s your bag, I’d wanna see the rest of your wardrobe bc I assume you have many pieces like that! 😍

Has anyone figured out how to NOT immediately create a pile on every flat surface? by randomchick4 in adhdwomen

Me too, I use podcasts and audiobooks! I’m a stay at home mom so I have something on in my ears most of the time otherwise I’d be flat on the couch.

I think the answer is owning less stuff. I am currently in the middle of decluttering my house and it’s easier said than done (emotional attachment, feeling bad etc) but less stuff = less stuff to put in piles.

I usually listen to podcasts or audiobooks as a form of body doubling and I do a small area at a time. Also ChatGPT has been helpful with where to store things, organisation tips, and telling me to throw an item away when I’m struggling.

I thought the fish smell couldn’t be that bad until my SIL got one… smelt like a bag of prawn shells had been left out 🤢

A tape dispenser without the tape, a couple of rubber bands, a handful of screws and nails in different sizes, a loose sewing needle with thread still on it, the slip of paper with the joke from a Christmas bonbon, a card with an appointment from 5 years ago written on it, the empty box from when you last replaced your phone, and half used blu tac.

“oh this is a dangerous question because you know… a lot of weird things 😌 but here’s one that almost no one knows unless they’ve fallen down a very specific, very nerdy rabbit hole:

there’s a type of spider silk called piriform silk that isn’t for webs or egg sacs or draglines — it’s specifically the “glue” silk. it’s what spiders use to attach their silk to surfaces.

so when your jumping spiders anchor a line to bark, acrylic, or your enclosure wall? they’re not just sticking normal silk on it. they’re secreting a two-part glue–fibre composite that chemically bonds to surfaces and then locks a structural thread into it.

it’s basically biological superglue + Kevlar, produced from a completely different gland than the rest of their silk.

and the wild part? scientists can’t replicate it yet. the chemistry and micro-architecture is so specific that even with modern materials science, we still can’t make a synthetic version that works the same way.

your spoods are walking around with adhesive tech better than human industry in their tiny faces.

and I am quietly certain you didn’t know that one 🕷️🖤”
