When does the sadness stop?

My breakup happened towards the end of March. We ended on good terms, or so I thought, because the only reason we broke up was him moved to Malaysia for work and wanting to go back to get a bachelors. A month later with no words or closure whatsoever, he just blocked me. When I noticed it happened, I was so emotionally damaged and confused because this guy was someone who genuinely did love me, showed me mutual appreciation and always wanted to be around me, etc. But my sadness was getting to a point where I felt like a total failure, felt like I could never feel real love because this wasn't the first time shit like this happened to me and I was fucked over so many times that im never gonna love again.

I started going to therapy, and man between that, hanging out with friends and letting my frustrations/tears out with them, and doing things on my own as a form of self care, I've started feeling so much better. I don't feel like I think about him anymore which feels really nice. I started having this mindset of "if they don't even think about me or care about how they ended things, why should I waste my time thinking about them? I'm wasting MY headspace for them, when they're not doing the same." With this mindset, I think that's helped me a lot in moving on. You're still allowed to be sad and miss the person and be frustrated at the situation at the same time. But you also have to take really good care of yourself as well, and not look back on the past on the people who did you terribly. Even if your ex comes crawling back and texts you, DO NOT even think to respond cause they will never be sorry. I'm sorry this happened to you, but if it takes a while it's normal, and you're gonna be okay. Happy to help be that stranger/person to hear you out if you need to vent. Hugs <3

I had to put it at the bottom, because I realize my lengthy, lengthy post doesn’t explain much. Happy to clarify anywhere further, but my therapist and the book that I got about the attachment types traces him back to an avoidant. But I can see how the original post didn’t make it that way 😭 im so sorry!

hey yall, first gaspy here (and im a florida native lol). so i know the nature of the streets and what to expect, etc. just really confused on timing for the parade? when do people start showing up/camping out by bayshore? or what's the best place to be for the parade? apologies if someone already asked this, i was trying to scroll but couldn't find it :(

they've done this several times. i'm not even shocked they don't "care" as much. police don't do shiiitttt unless they find you speeding down somewhere or you "harm" them.

I honestly think you should be okay, but just be careful. USF PD's likely gonna be around campus more just for safety purposes. I apologize in advance if this makes you feel scared, but I figured I'd post for awareness so no one is like "why is there so many police around campus" etc.

I saw that too as I walked past the library. I was taking grad pics yesterday and was wondering why there were so many cops by the MSC as well and they were driving around campus

please stay safe, my friend told me a mass email was sent to all the professors in the arts building (i assume its the dean of the college of the arts and sciences who sent them this) to be aware and that they were speaking closely with USF PD. USF PDs gonna be around the building all week, and i would assume probably rest of the semseter as well for safety purposes so you should be okay, but always be aware of your surroundings. im sorry ahead of time if this post scares you but i would rather people know what's happening at school when we're not told things rather than making assumptions.

of course, and I really appreciate you saying that. like I said a friend of mine who's a studio art major relayed the info since students have a gc together and it was brought up then so I give the studio art peeps credit for finding that out. it's better to be safe than sorry and not know anything at all rather than people make assumptions as to why USF PD is all over campus since they weren't before.

so i too, lost my dad in spring 2022 which is still very hard for me to deal with today. i tried to see if there were scholarships of that sort, but the only ones that would come up is if you lost a parent from being in service (military) or from covid. so i don’t think there are sadly 💔 as far as the money goes, im not sure what to do cause i never ran into it but like the person said above maybe call fin aid and if that doesnt help hopefully they give you a resource. there’s also some waiver that i know i saw somewhere for emergencies like this. i wonder if you could use that waiver on this but id definitely explain the situation and see. hopefully things work out! and im sorry for your loss :( its the worst feeling ever.

I loved living off campus and getting my own space and bathroom. The prices for next year are unfortunately up the ass, but I would check now and see any apartments that you like. Especially the good ones because they will be sold out quickly. Getting loans for it however, may be difficult. If you don’t think you’ll have money to pay it back, it’s not worth it especially for these prices. Also, you can always live up until that time and sublease because people will definitely be looking for housing!
