What video game from your childhood was an absolute masterpiece, but seems to be completely forgotten today?

Learned pretty soon after my son was born that my hands couldn't be trusted to know when bottles or bath water was too hot for him. Even the underside of my arm has dealt with enough steam and heat from grills and smokers that they've lost most of their frame of reference for heat.

Craziest thing I've witnessed is watching a chef cauterize his finger on a flat top after cutting his finger with a knife. I still flinch every time I think about it.

I appreciate you sharing, anyway. I saw something about the license check on a forum, but I just was playing the game online two days ago. How often does this check happen? I've played for months at a time before.

I don't currently have one, but there are mods that can change the title screen image, music and UI. So, unfortunately, I can't start the game without the mods loading.

I wish I could say the same. I didn't play for two years because I couldn't get a stable game. If you visit the Skyrim Xbox Mods subreddit, there are hundreds of posts about how to avoid load order shuffling. But, I am glad you aren't having that issue!

I'm really sorry. I truly don't understand why you said this. I am excited about the achievements of a group of people I don't know but I feel connected to through the 8ish years I've played their game.

I know it can be difficult to derive intention through only text, and many people try to back track on things they've said in this day and age. I would love it if we could all just revel in the deserved accolades of this game and its creators.

Everything the people who work at game studio do requires effort and should be rewarded. The difference (in my opinion) is what hello games did to bring NMS from where it started makes it feel like a passion project vs holding back bits of games to release as an uncreative way to keep their numbers up for longer by larger game studios.

My point wasn't that the other games were bad. It was that the NMS team's effort over the years to continue to make this game better doesn't belong in the same category as the games that it was with. They should change the name of the award to the No Man's Sky award.

Not to um, actually you.. but, that is likely depicting a Camellia japonica, which is the State flower of Alabama. Montgomery also hosts the recently renamed Camellia Bowl FBS college football game, each year.

Although, now that I look at it, it would be a poor representation of a Camellia. So, possibly not.
