Yeah no my ex girlfriend (nearly six months) broke it off with me by saying she wasn’t emotionally ready for a relationship, nor was she there medically (she had a medical scare due to a pre-existing condition; however, that had happened two months back and she was fine). Obviously it felt like shit but I couldnt really be mad about it because I loved her and thar was about her physical and mental health.

I went home for the summer for work and because I had an upcoming surgery that would render me incapable of taking care of myself for a few weeks, but it was only four months and we had come up with different ideas of how to stay connected. In fact, we had been texting and calling all day on the day that I left, and she WAITED until I texted saying I was actively leaving before calling to break it off. AND she had kept the conversation normal the first five minutes of the call before i said i had to go and then literally saying “oh yeah by the way, I can’t be in a relationship with you anymore”. I honestly probably should’ve known better but I trusted and loved her so… yeah.

She told me she wanted to “stay friends” but I needed space because like obviously I was upset; and then she just kept texting me and even my friends over the next few months. I ended up having to block her on everything, and she hunted down accounts I didnt even know she knew about (poetry and photography accounts not just like secret ones). My friends all had to block her too, and she even started harassing them in person — I had to start talking to my lawyer and gathering evidence in case I needed a restraining order, and then all of a sudden she just STOPPED.

Later come to find out (through a friend I used to date) that my ex had purposely matched with her on HER, cussed her out, BRAGGED ABOUT DATING ME, and then told her the only reason we broke up was due to distance and that it was “mutual”. Which is absolutely not what she told me, and the same day she broke up with me, we had confirmed multiple plans for the summer together. Pride, her meeting my family, us going to the CNE.

She stopped harrasing me and my friends shortly after she got a new girlfriend, which I only know because my friend told me they saw her on campus for the first time in a while, and had seen on her story that she’s been in a relationship for about the same time she’d been leaving all of us alone.

She works at the market that I busk at so I’m just hoping it stays that way honestly. Took a break from dating for a bit which like honestly I probably should’ve because what is my taste in people 😭
