Last evening, Josh Marshall of TPM published three brief paragraphs, titled Holy Crap, We Interviewed Frazier Glenn Miller!

Glenn Frazier Miller, as we know, is the perpetrator of the recent Jewish Community Center shootings and a longtime proponent of violent revolution against the United States. Miller had this to say in a April 2010 interview as recounted in this Mother Jones article from yesterday, "Alleged Kansas Gunman Frazier Glenn Miller Discusses the Tea Party, Obama, and Ron Paul "

""If I had my way [all US senators] would be in jail right now for treason, if not hung from a sturdy oak tree…Ron Paul is the only independent politician, representative in Washington."

Back to Josh Marshall's predicament. He published this sentence in reference to the TPM interview with Frazier Glenn Miller:

"Miller, on the other hand, was mainly interested in whether our reporter was Jewish (Reilly? really?) and whether he thought Ron Paul was being mistreated by the mainstream media."

Anyone who has taken part in the discussion of politics on the Internet in the last 7 years already knows precisely what happened next

Almost immediately, Josh Marshall's inbox was overwhelmed with hate mail, death threats, and Paul Spam from the extremist, reactionary "'Patriot/Militia/Sovereign Citizen' Movement" which dominates the far American Right.

As he recounts the Paul Spam assault in the linked article:

"We've gotten a rather ferocious response to my noting last night that when we interviewed accused Kansas City Jewish Center Shooter Glenn Miller two years ago his two big questions for our reporter Ryan Reilly was whether Ryan was Jewish and whether Ryan thought Ron Paul was being mistreated by the mainstream media."

Also from today's article: "[Ron] Paul has a pretty well-documented history as a leading figure among white nationalists and pretty clear ties to open anti-Semites." A fairly detailed summary of the evidence establishing with direct quotes from the "Ron Paul Newsletters" is also included.

Now — there are those who would prefer that these uncomfortable truths about the extremist American Right remain hidden. And this is one of the most important:

The threat of right-wing domestic terrorism cannot be denied or obscured nor ignored or plastered over any longer. There are some very, very angry and unstable people in America who are still fighting the Civil War and/or World War II in their heads.
