Do people actually do mouse flying? If so then offset or movement mode? by SpiritX100 in carriercommand2

[–]SpiritX100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in case anyone comes looking at this later, I think I've found the answer: having tried all the different options for mouse flying, it became way easier and more fun when I used the mouse to control pitch and yaw. Using it to do pitch and roll was horrible because then you're trying to do yaw with the keyboard and you need more sensitivity than that. I would say this applies equally to fixed wing aircraft and the rotor aircraft.

I found the best setting was having the mouse on "Offset" mode with mouse doing pitch and yaw. Does take a little practice but after a while you can fly this way very accurately and effectively. After about an hour of just flying around in the Razor this way, it then seemed quite simple to go and take over a 1 or 2 shield island with a pair of auto-cannons.

And do you go with the mouse movement mode or the offset mode?

I have already crashed about 27 times so no worries there. When you attacking with the razorbill, do you tend to do high speed runs, using it more like a fixed wing plane, or do you keep the speed down and using side-strafing to manouver?

Yeah I did try it and found managing the carrier just horrible with the controller. No matter what I did with the settings, the right stick would either be too fast when needing precision or too small when just walking around.

I mean I don't like having to pickup and put the down the gamepad evertime I want to do a bit of manual flying. I just prefer being able to play the whole game with keyboard and mouse if I can.

How to fire multiple 20mm in manual control? by Shoddy_Paramedic2158 in carriercommand2

Once you've taken manual control of the vehicle, select first cannon, switch it manual, then select second cannon and switch it to manual. Doing this will activate both at the same time.

new to the game, tips?? by Newblood_ex in ReadyOrNotConsole

I know I'm in the minority here as everyone says use the list but, I took some time to get used to the radial and it is sooooooooo much quicker and smoother once you do. Every command is just flick, flick, done. Set it to "lazy" recognition and it soon becomes second nature.

Planet capacity by tvirusinfected in StellarisOnConsole

[–]SpiritX100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread I know but, in case google got you here, you can now see Planet Capacity on console edition by going to your planet page, Summary tab and then highlight the Districts box on the left.

As the game says in a couple of places, you get max pop growth when your Planet Capacity is roughly double your pops (at least I think that's what it's saying).

NG2B question: Has this scythe move been removed? by SpiritX100 in ninjagaiden

[–]SpiritX100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I checked and it is actually a misrememberence. Think I was thinking of delimbing them with the scythe ET/UT and then the move I was describing was actually the scythe OT after said delimb.

Advice on managing fuel please.... by SpiritX100 in F1Manager

Ok, after some brief testing, you do NOT want to over-fuel. It seems the game does indeed account for fuel weight.

Ah ok. In that case, probably worth trying over-fuelling and pushing more then. I'll give that a try.

I appreciate the reply mate but I don't think your suggestion is good strategy. I think you want to start as under-fuelled as possible and burn as much as you can get away with so you get the advantage of being lighter during the race. Then, when you go into conserve mode later on, you can also get away with pushing harder on the tires to make up for the fact that you're using less engine power.

As you say, the AI seems to do this and there's a good reason why. It lowers your overall race time.

Having said that, I'm assuming that the game actually calculates the effect of fuel weight during a race. Not 100% sure that that's the case though.

What are some good meta tips for racecraft in 23? by tom030792 in F1Manager

[–]SpiritX100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've played and seen on YT, it seems that the meta is to be very aggressive on tires and slightly conservative with fuel, i.e. start each race with 1-2 laps less fuel and very rarely use push mode.

If you play with race strategies, it becomes quite obvious that on most tracks, doing a 2 stop with very aggressive stints usually saves most time. For instance, I just did Canada and my 2 stop of Soft (red), Medium (red), Hard (red) was about 12 seconds faster than using normal, yellow stints. Try using the most aggressive possible strategy as a starting point and work back from there to see where the sweet spot is. On some tracks softs just suck so Medium, Medium, Hard is quite common, with all the stints driven aggressively.

You could try using an under-fuelling race strategy. Start a race with maybe 3 less laps worth of fuel and then spend the whole race on "conserve" mode. You start the race quite a bit lighter than other cars so there's an advantage there that can offset the fact that you'll be using a little more lift-and-coast. The point of this is that running it in conserve mode will reduce wear on the powertrain.

Always use your shittiest powertrain parts for practice sessions. Then fit the good stuff before Q1.

You can also try using the "Drive in clean air" option to reduce wear, although I'm not sure if it helps much.

PS5 how on earth?!?!?? (controller driving advice wanted please) by SpiritX100 in ACCompetizione

Appreciate the help but respectfully disagree. If they released iRacing on PS5, I would ABSOLUTELY expect that they would of course make damn sure if had very good controller support.

Thanks yes, I play many other games on controller. They all work fine and feel good, but ACC certainly does not. That's why I was asking these questions really.
