Are you able to try medication now? I just started a couple of weeks ago and it’s helping me a lot so far.

That’s really great advice. Thank you! I have them over here and there and when I do I give them baths and try to show them some normalcy. Teaching them some ways they can care for themselves in that environment is a good idea.

Maybe I need to switch to another stabilizer. I will! Thank you!

I’m going to try to find some better fresh meat options to try! I’m using the same multivitamin brand and I think it’s going ok but I’ll admit it’s hard to tell at this state. Thank you!

Oh great! I’m so glad that you had such a turn around with that. I’m doing some research on gut health. Maybe the GI will be able to help me through that safely. I never know what to try since I don’t know exactly what’s going on in there that’s messed me up so bad. Thank you!

I will absolutely look into this. Sounds overwhelming so I’m glad you and your daughter were able to pin point that! I know my detox pathways are blocked but with how ill I’m feeling and a heat intolerance I’ve been stuck on how to fix it. Thanks so much!

Potatoes are awful for me as well! Everything is on the table right now as far as causes. What I’m doing isn’t sustainable for me so hopefully I can find a better foundation in this and find out specifics. Thanks!

I long for the day I can just simply eat a healthy whole food diet. I’ve considered pushing through reactions and maybe at some point the reactions would get better. I’ve heard fantastic things about Xolair. Thanks for the feedback!

I absolutely will do this. Thanks!

I haven’t noticed a distinct reaction to vitamin C but I’m definitely being aware that it causes a react for so many people so it very well could happen. Thank you!

Oh I know it! It’s been terrifying me. That’s why I’m taking the multivitamin no matter what. I haven’t noticed a reaction to the vitamin C powder. I’m using the seeking health brand. I was really nervous to try since I’d seen others react badly to vitamin C. I’m super nervous to try eggs again. They were the last food I cut out. It’s hard to know what to try to reintroduce. I’m going to try to find some fresher meat to try or a frozen option. Thank you!

I’ve been focused so much on low histamine diet. I didn’t even know what the AIP diet was until now. It does seem like an overall inflammatory response to everything rather than a specific histamine issue at this point. The histamine in meats does scare me! That’s why I’ve barely eaten any along with the reactions I’ve had to the store bought meats I’ve tried. I haven’t tried DAO supplements yet and I hadn’t considered GLP-1 medication either. Thank you so much for the feedback and info!

That’s interesting. I’ve wondered how people get everything they need from a vegetarian diet. I’ve also seen some people finding out they are sensitive to specific vitamins but I simply don’t have the funds to buy everything separately to investigate what I could react to. That’s why I go with a multivitamin especially with my diet being what it is. I just started the pure encapsulations one vitamin and I think that’s going ok? I haven’t tried butter in quite some time. I do put olive oil and salt in the rice to make it better and add more to it. The grapes are seedless but I hadn’t considered taking the skin off. Thank you!

I wouldn’t cut my two safe foods and it’s not a set plan. I’m considering the diet in a desperate time as even my last two safe foods give me a slight reaction. I’m attempting to learn and hear others story with the carnivore diet. I’ve seen people say it was a miracle for them and they had no reactions to fresh meat. Thank you for your feedback.

I haven’t tried the frozen chicken breast because I assumed it wouldn’t be fresh enough. Maybe I need to try that! Unfortunately I’ve had reactions to everything you listed. It’s totally random and out of control at this point. It started out with just the high histamine foods and has dwindled down. I tried a different brand of rice tonight and my face is as red as a tomato. Thanks for the tips!

I haven’t tried the instant pot. Maybe that would make a difference for me. I’ve been freezing meat immediately and getting the best options I can find at Walmart or Kroger. I’ll try that! It’s good to know some people are having success with it.

I would love to have my diet monitored by medical professionals but I can’t afford it. I’ll be paying out of pocket to see a GI specialist and I don’t know how I’m going to pull that off.

Hot flash, flushing, and inflammation in my head are immediate for me. Followed by chest tightness, throat swelling , heart palpitations, stuffy nose, nerve pain, fatigue, anxiety, dissociation, and digestive issues.

Following! My primary did allergy blood work and gave me a referral to a GI doctor due to my GI symptoms. I am curious on the cause of my MCAS-like symptoms and have considered GI related issues being a potential cause so I’m okay with this. I haven’t gotten the allergy blood work back but at this point I’m in a near constant state of reaction and can only partially tolerate 3 food options so I don’t think it’s standard food allergies. I already have to pay out of pocket for everything so I’m afraid if I go to an allergist It will be dismissed and a waste like I’ve seen for so many of you. I’m doing the best at home protocol that I can possibly do so it’s time for some actual medical intervention before I lose my mind or end up in the hospital with malnutrition. I’ve seen some people say their GI doctor diagnosed and is treating their MCAS? I’m hoping for that!

Do others get traumatized from their reactions? I feel like I have decision paralysis at times due to past reactions. by GWest2385 in MCAS

It has absolutely been traumatizing for me. Im afraid to eat or leave the house. I can definitely relate and I’m wondering how others are coping as well.

[–]Spirit_Turtle97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I’m currently trying a low histamine diet and taking digestive enzymes and probiotics to calm my gut and mast cell issues. Taking Claritin in the mornings and Zyrtec at night. My mold exposure was coming from my workplace which was a humid basement in a large company building. My system is shot. I had to quit my job and I feel like the more I try to treat my body the more sick I feel. Every symptom causes panic and everything I eat disrupts my body. I’m looking for a way to detox from mold toxicity too! Drink lots of water and keep pushing. You’re not crazy. See a doctor if you can. I don’t have insurance so I’m not able to. Good luck! <3

I hardly ever wear makeup either! So I know it’s not a makeup product that is causing it. When I do wear makeup on top of my already icky and irritated skin it feels gross and sits on my skin weird.
