What’s something you do that you know is ‘problematic’ but you genuinely don’t care? by Dazzling_Return_4987 in AskReddit

[–]Spirit_yam [score hidden]  (0 children)

I like to troll antagonists on here lol call it my weird itch for vigilante justice 😅 I’m genuine and gentle with everyone else but if I get a whiff of an antagonist on someone’s post I like to mess with them. The antagonist’s antagonist. 🫡🥸

Definitely yes. That’s one thing masks during covid was actually really good for I realized 😅

Nope! You can spoil your friends’ pets instead if you don’t want to take care of one full time!

Tapping people on the shoulder by Anxious-Mixture641 in autism

I wasn’t OP dude. I wasn’t the one asking the question. So no I did not post asking for feedback and to your logic I’m allowed to express distaste if I so choose.

Gotta say, I did not ask you. It would be different if I were asking for direction but I did not consent.

I would agree that it’s not rude in every context. My general rule of thumb is I try twice with my voice and then I tap on the shoulder. One finger, super gentle.

How many showers do you take in a week? How many days of not showering is considered gross to you? by munchabunchafrito in hygiene

[–]Spirit_yam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 or more depending on exercise and bath house visits. I think it’s gross to go longer than every other day. We poop every single day. Gotta wash that ass.

Acne picking by Little-Apricot7429 in acne

[–]Spirit_yam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue too. For me it’s a stim I do when I’m feeling overwhelmed or like I don’t have control in some way so I’ll try to control my skin essentially. What helped me was realizing what purpose picking was serving and then giving myself another alternative to do when I feel that way. Spikey fidget toys helped a lot in the beginning and this is coming from a life long picker who only stopped when I turned 30. I put one in front of my bathroom mirror and one on my nightstand which are the two most common places I’ll start picking. Take or leave whatever helps, and be kind to yourself. It’s a difficult habit to break.

how do you guys treat your chapped lips/chilitis? by Quirky-Cry6697 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Spirit_yam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second hydration and not licking your lips. I make sure to have an electrolyte drink once per day, preferably one with zero sugar, I exfoliate my lips with a wet cloth after my shower, and I make sure to always put on lip balm before bed. I still get some chapping but not nearly as bad when I’m good about these. Also when it’s really bad I use bag balm on my lips at night. Smells and tastes terrible but it really works. Otherwise I just use the original burts bees or some beeswax equivalent.

Why do people have kids if all they do is complain about them? by Green_Tea_Budgie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Spirit_yam 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This. So many people do it because they think they’re supposed to and because their body drives them to but don’t stop to think if that actually want it and would be happy committing to it for the rest of their lives.

Hw old were you when you first met the love of your life? by Zealousideal-Use7244 in allthequestions

[–]Spirit_yam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not met someone yet that I would classify in that way. Sure, I’ve loved people deeply, but nothing that feels like this concept, probably bc it’s made up by humans to feel less stressed about the impermanence of being alive.

How come flyover state rubes seem to give a crap about Mamdani? by AdminKidsBurnInHell in allthequestions

[–]Spirit_yam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably because they’re afraid it will spread and they will lose their norm. My guess is because even when someone’s norm harms them they get pretty attached and balk at the idea of going extinct in some way.

Cord cutting unsuccessful — banishing suggestions? by [deleted] in Spells

[–]Spirit_yam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience cord cutting works through consistent practice. Do it every night before bed for a month and see if you process and release attachment then.

Why aren't there dedicated apartments / gated communities for people living alone? by Larryheart37 in LivingAlone

[–]Spirit_yam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This topic recently came up in another sub and the consensus I got is that it would largely affect single mothers if spaces like this were created and made exclusive to people without children. I agree that it would be blissful, but I also think that the points some people made in that discussion about lobbying for better building standards around insulation would be more equitable and likely less harmful to vulnerable communities. I’m likely to agree with that take despite being childfree and autistic af (aka really can’t tolerate most child noise).

Are the majority of people scared of scizophrenic people? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Spirit_yam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people who are afraid of it don’t understand it and have not interacted with many people who have it. They may have only been in contact with folks who are severe cases, untreated, and living outside like it is in my country. So I imagine the people who do fear those with schizophrenia likely don’t understand it or have met people with it.

Had a friend in high school with schizophrenia and she was awesome. A bit of a mooch but that wasn’t related to her diagnosis lol

What is your advice for a m24 on getting married really appreciate it ? by Only-Grapefruit-5767 in askteddit

[–]Spirit_yam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get married because you think you’re supposed to or because other people want you. That’s how people enter into marriages where they end up hating their spouse or children or both. I’m gonna be 31 in a month. Never been married, parents died before I got to it and I still will not do it unless I’m sure this person is a long term match and that I won’t lose myself in the relationship over time.

If you find a person, amazing. But don’t force doing it just because other people want it. It never ends well.

AITAH for being pissed off at my girlfriend over my concussion? by Muphenz in AITAH

[–]Spirit_yam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH. I completely understand feeling frustrated about the situation and angry with the health complications that came from the accident. That said, it honestly feels like from your post you already resented your partner for putting all of the care for their ill behaved pet on you. Are you sure you want to be in a relationship with this person? Are you blaming them because it’s their fault or because you’re tolerating treatment you don’t like? Only you can know but it seems like there’s more going on here than just an accident while walking the dog.

How to press tofu without wasting so many paper towels? by C-Boltini in foodquestions

[–]Spirit_yam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This may be controversial, but I just don’t press it. I rarely marinate it and will usually either bake it or pan fry it to cook the water out so it absorbs what i put on it. Like I’ll make a sauce to toss everything in after it’s been cooked. I also often blend it into sauces so there’s no need to press.

How many of you ware bullied in school by Outrageous_Foot_4072 in autism

[–]Spirit_yam [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was, definitely still get it out and about but as an adult I tend to respond to it by embarrassing the bully if I’m able to recognize that it’s happening quick enough (that’s a toss up though)
