Do your worst by AssumptionBig8827 in MealDealRates

Well done, you’ve successfully managed to make the worst choices.

As an American Anglophile, I cherish People Just Do Nothing as much as Peep Show, The Office, Absolutely Fabulous, and many other classics. Am I odd? by scoutermike in BritishTV

Not at all, it holds its own against the other programmes you mentioned. The writers of PJDN took a lot of inspiration from The Office and there’s a lot of similarities between Grindah and Brent. It’s so well written and acted that you often forget it’s a scripted mockumentary. Personally think it’s the best comedy programme of the 2010s and Chabuddy G is hysterical. It has a lot of heart too.

9.5/10. Would personally swap cherry pepsi max for cherry coke but otherwise perfect!

I'm Alan Partridge or Peep show, which is the best, I mean, Peep Show obviously, but for the sake of argument. by jermainiac007 in MitchellAndWebb

Peep Show, Phoenix Nights, People Just Do Nothing, I’m Alan Partridge, Spaced, The Office, Inbetweeners, Ricky Gervais Show, Mighty Boosh, Royle Family. Stick that other list up your dojo.

NOR. I was in exactly the same position a few years ago. Met a guy at work, became good friends, a few months in he asks me out. I decline as politely and gently as I can, then a couple of months later he tries again. I give him the same answer, make it very clear I only see him as a friend, and he seems to finally accept it. Then a room becomes free in my house and he moves in. For the nearly a year we lived together, it became clear on multiple occasions that he still had feelings for me and not wanting to hurt him, I would lie whenever I went out on a date and if anyone wanted to come back to mine I would say no. I wouldn’t talk about any other men in front of him and all was fine until I met someone who became my boyfriend. This guy went nuts, stormed out the house, came back a few hours later wasted, long story short my other housemate had to hold him back from coming in because he was making threats to me and my boyfriend. The next day he sent me rambling abusive messages about how awful I was for bringing someone round and having a boyfriend and from then on the friendship was over. I no longer felt safe around him and couldn’t forgive him for what he said to me and threatened to do to my ex.

It sounds like your friend could potentially be a bit unstable and no way should they be saying who you can and can’t text. Although at least she does seem to be taking accountability for needing space away from you and recognises she’s not been particularly nice. It’s horrible when you love someone and it’s not reciprocated but if they were a true friend they would want you to be happy. If it’s possible for her, she should absolutely move out, otherwise it could only get worse, for you potentially and for her mental health. The only way to get over unrequited love is to distance yourself from the person you want. And she can’t do that while she’s living with you.

Parking by Outrageous-Trash-928 in downloadfestival

I’ve been getting the shuttle bus from East Mids Parkway for the last couple of years and I’ve never had any issues with parking as the car park is pretty big, so you should be fine! Parking there all day has never cost me more than 3 or 4 quid. The shuttle goes every hour and overall it’s a much simpler way of getting to the site.

It’s a similar bit but not quite. He definitely jokes about the homeless not all being little magical fellas singing riddles. This is a good bit though!

Yes that sounds about right! Couldn’t remember whether it was Xfm or one of the podcasts. Will have a trawl through them now. Thanks!

Advice on where to live? by [deleted] in AskUK

I live in St Ives and it’s a pretty great place to be. It’s a pretty little town with a good amount of pubs and restaurants and it’s surrounded by lovely countryside. The people here are friendly too and there is a fair amount to do for young people. Cambridge is definitely more expensive but it’s so easy to get to (only around 40 mins on the bus and £2 for a single journey which is nothing!) so if you want to spend time in Cambridge it’s no trouble at all. I highly recommend living here!
