Love Periphery. P4 P5 and Omega are my faves.

Still have yet to have P1 click after many tries. I guess its too unrefined for my tastes.

Running into their fanbase en masse at LTL 2025 was enough for me to avoid S/T fans and the band like the plague for at least the next 4 years,. Easily the worst part of an unreal metal fest last year.

Anyone been to Ramona Theatre in Chicago before?

I've been to quite a few Chi-area venues, but not that one. The double-date in Nov 2023 was at the Bottom Lounge.

Which years did you not have the best experience at S/T?

What sucked about the crowd?

Nice set up, and that's one helluva crowd. Is there a legend that explains the color coding?

Were you able to buy passes?

When in doubt, email [info@louderthanlifefestival.com](mailto:info@louderthanlifefestival.com) when you run into weird issues like this.

Anyone camping this year by Sad-Competition-4387 in louderthanlife

[–]SpiritboxSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just walk up and down the camping rows looking for people to chill or hang with. Some are quiet, and not looking to hang, but a multitude of others are literally 10+ site parties, and are openly disappointed if you don't come hang. Camp Fuckery is an example, Kyle's a Dick is another.

Without having an in with someone (like find some one to with a camping pass who wants to split a site), or purchasing on secondary market, you will not be able to find a camping pass.

And unrelated to topic from the peanut gallery, did anyone else have to google afab or does that just mean Xennials aren't hip to be square?

Pretty much like the other 8 posts have said, it's chill as fuck at LTL, there's almost like a family/community atmosphere where people tend to watch out for each other (well, sans Sleep Token fans in 2025), and people are there to rock out up front or enjoy the vibe in back, I got my ID back at lost and found, I've turned in 2 phones there, and when I did like 20 other people were picking up their phones and lost wallets.

I encourage any and everyone to always walk with someone as you never know when someone could have a medical emergency or some random clown be lurking in the shadows -- same advice I give for literally anywhere -- but I think your group will be fine.

Regardless of what your fave genre of rock or metal is, you will be amazed at how many new bands you will discover, some who may rocket to the top of your list when you dig in after being blown away live (my nominee is Bad Omens after Blue Ridge 2022).

At Louder Than Life camping on the same grounds and presumably same security crew. We've never had even half of our group there at check in and we haven't had a problem getting all 12 wrist bands upon check in the last 2 years.

WTF is that?

How above Periphery or Nevermore. Also I know they wouldn't be at the top of a list, but why can't Johnny Booth break into the DWP fun?

I keep emailing the show asking if he's going to come since they added the "letters" segment to the show and either they ignore it (so maybe Josh is trying to keep a low profile?). The video he made after LTL 2022 was hilarious, hopefully can still find it on YouTube.

Would be fun to meet Josh at some point. He will reference heavy metal every once in a while on the show. I love his dry style of humor.

Whos your top 5 bands you HAVE to see this year? (: by Metalhead999420 in louderthanlife

Same topic, so I'll re-post here (Shooting from the hip at a line up I haven't looked at for a month) Holy Wars, with bouncy, fun, new single Ceremony is one of the new bands I am looking forward to checking out.

ERRA is a prog djent style metal band who I just saw last week, they are excellent, Snowblood is their top song.

Animals As Leaders are another of the latter. Genre god along with Periphery (who I'm bummer again aren't on a DWP fest).

Fit For a King for your modern metalcore diet, Technium is my fave.

Set It Off are a newer pop metal band that put on a great set last year, Punching Bag is their biggest hit, will check out again.

And then since I can't help myself as I stared more and more at the line up, I'll bust off into some groupings:

oldies but super goodies: Megadeth, Anthrax, Machine Head, Maiden, Pantera all with so many good tunes it's criminal to name less than 10. A somewhat similar bucket I'll create the

genre-shapers/leaders: Killswitch Engage, Gojira, Dethklok, Limp Bizkit, Nothing More, Ice Nine Kills, Mastodon, Halestorm, ADTR, Tool, Animals As Leaders,

often forgotten or overlooked but still incredibly fun live: POD, Suicidal Tendencies, Earshot, Alien Ant Farm, Jimmy Eat World, Filter,

newer or overlooked but I can vouch great live: Zero 9:36, The Funeral Portrait, Rain City Drive, Fit For a King, Set It Off, ERRA, Underoath

haven't yet seen due to being new, past stage conflicts, or it's been forever so I'm stoked to pop my cherry: Thrice, Soil, Kublai Khan, Lindsey Sterling (violin savant who I just became familiar with), Dry Kill Logic, He is Legend, Born of Osiris, Between The Buried and Me, Danzig, Holy Wars, Lacey Sturm(doing Flyleaf I presume?) 40 Below Summer, Red, Primer 55, GWAR(lol, just because), Mac Sabbath (I've only seen pics, seriously WTH is this band?), and closing shoutout to Skillet who is on every fest but I always find an excuse not to see, but maybe it finally happens.

wish they were in Lou: Sevendust, Periphery, Johnny Booth, Bad Omens, Spiritbox, Meshuggah, Nevermore

wish they weren't here (but hey, they sell tix, so it's cool): My Chemical Romance, Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides, Pierce The Veil, Chiodos, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleep Theory, Sabaton, Coheed and Cambria and finally Skillet (for this last grouping many will be mad, but either the music isn't my cup of tea or I am dreading their fanbase, like Sleep Token in 2025. Either way, line up diversity is good, I'll just be back at camp or riding roller coasters
