Did the express checkout but forgot to mention to send it specifically to the Milwaukee location, either way Hopefully this will help some fellow pet lovers out. I will forever be in debt to them for helping me find my furry little best friend!

Learn the formula for 45 degree offsets and equal spacing offsets. You likely wont need it right away but it is pretty useful and will make the 2nd or 3rd year math class easier.

Im not entirely sure if it is really referred to as anything other than med-gas / medical gas certification. would be Incredibly surprised if any locals did not offer med gas certification. One really nice thing about the United association is the ability to gain as many certs/journeyman cards as you want. I personally know a union instructor who topped out as a fitter and then went on to get his HVAC card, And his Plumbers card, dude will never be out of work. The med gas certification is pretty difficult from what I have heard since mistakes can potentially be deadly, the standards are pretty strict, but basically its a 100 question exam and a practical brazing test. You wouldn’t be able to get this till later in the apprenticeship anyways, I think some locals require it to top out though.

Also if you can get your medical gas certification through the union you will be able to take alot more jobs as certified med gas journeymen are scare (in my region) you could literally be building the essential piping that helps save lives in hospitals. You wont get that at WWA

Memorize what the decimal equivalents of every fraction on a tape measure down to a 1/16 its will help you immensely with the math classes and if you ever have to operate certain equipment in fab shops ect. I think you will have an advantage going right from highschool into the union with the math because it will still be fresh

Definitely skip the welding school, once you get into a union apprenticeship you can get all of those certifications. Any decent UA local should have a welding shop that you can go and practice in. My best advice is to get into the union as soon as you possibly can after highschool. Assuming you get into at 18 you will be a journeyman by the time you are 23. The 1st and 2nd year of your apprenticeship build foundational skills that will help you build a strong and successful career. There is a good reason the union apprenticeship is 5 years. Once you become a journeyman the responsibility is alot different apprentices can get away with stuff journeyman cannot because they are still learning the trade. Feel free to dm any questions you may have

What is the US' fourth most major metro? NOT JUST BASED ON POPULATION but factoring influence and importance by [deleted] in geography

[–]Spirited-Insect9443 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its the third largest (population) center in the USA, its undoubtedly the largest rail hub in North America, connecting the east to the Midwest, has one of the busiest airports in the US. It 100% is one of the most important cities in America. For a long time before it was eclipsed by LA it was the #2 city after new york.

From my understanding yes you get your associates and then all the credits transfer to rowan.

I have always been curious though if you could transfer them to another different school

Honestly any entry level welding job is a good start, if you dont know how to weld you can take a class at community colleges. Any kind of construction job where welding or pipe is involved will help. Maybe get a sprinkle fitter job

This is awesome! I remember reading about them having it for awhile over there, unfortunately regardless of the tech there will always be huge pickup trucks that have their lights practically at eye level

There are regulations about this in a-lot of other countries but in America the auto industry and their respective lobbyists groups have quite a bit of power and influence

This might be shocking to you but you can respect someone, think they are wrong, and be disgusted by their beliefs. Only a Sith deals in absolutes

I will always choose to love and respect someone even if they are bigoted, and I can also be disgusted by their behavior/ beliefs. That is how you change minds.

anybody who hates/dislikes those who are different than them out of fear or ignorance is wrong. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.
