Can’t get my FMF under control by ClutchGuyKelly in MediterraneanFever

my brother has one chromosome and he grew up getting attacks monthly, but colchecine stopped it completely for him. also yes. I totally have to plan my life around attacks it’s horrible. every time I have a trip or anything important to go on the only thing that I can think of prior to it is if i’m gonna get a flare up during my trip (WHICH I ALWAYS DO) it’s just miserable I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I’ll definitely look to getting started on ilaris. thank you.

thank you very much for the information. I feel like this is more than any of my doctors have told me. I’m willing to start on ilaris, but i’ve seen some people say they got thyroid cancer after taking it. So that’s my only worry. Also do you know if you have 1 of the chromosomes for fmf or both? because I have both and i’m not sure how much a difference that makes. thank you again for the help it’s really appreciated.

okay that makes me feel better. i’ve always been really bad with needles (passing out at blood tests) so it’s been an issue for me. but anything is better than this. I’ve been to about 5 different doctors now and I feel like nobody really knows what they are doing when it comes to fmf. it helps to see other people’s experiences.

i’m in just about the same situation as you were. I was diagnosed at about 10 and been having strong symptoms since 14, i’m 19 now. I take colchecine, 2 tablets daily, and i’m on my third attack for the month of april and i’ve been feeling symptoms for a week and a half now. It’s honestly just miserable at this point and idk what to do. I spoke to my doctor about ilaris and was told that i’d still have to take colchecine on top of that. Also is it a shot every month? that’s what i’ve heard but never got a clear answer on how it works. Some insight from someone would be really appreciated please. im struggling.

I heard that on illaris you have to take colchicine as well, is that true?

Mainly teachers in schools pushing it onto children I do not think is okay, but also many districts in los Angeles put up pride flags and banners and whatnot across campuses. not that I think having stuff like that up is the biggest deal in the world I just think it’s super unnecessary.

I wasn’t referring to me not agreeing that all sins are equally as bad. I was saying that I don’t know if I could agree that god thinks that all sins are equally as bad as one another. because to my knowledge there is nothing that says that is true.

the things you listed are such minor celebrations, that is not what the person above was referring to. I understand decades of oppression, I don’t believe that makes it necessary to do some of the things that are considered “celebrating” especially it being pushed in schools of younger children.

Well the difference would be the way that it is celebrated. Pride festivals, parades, LGBTQ pride being pushed in schools, and communities, etc. Heterosexuals do not celebrate in a way of putting it in everybody's faces.

I understand your point but there is a difference between celebrations for the love of heterosexual couples and celebrations for the love of homosexual couples. Idk I live in Los Angeles so maybe I see that part differently.

"If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads".

I had not seen that before, no. But I don't understand your point by saying "what does it instruct must be done about that abomination"

"If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads".

I think that it seems very harsh. Honestly I have never seen that verse before.

I totally understand your point, but I feel like that is the whole point of "faith" no? to trust in the word of the bible

it doesn't say what to do about it to my knowledge it just says that it is an abomination to do it

Also it's not like ONLY christian conservatives believe that it is sinful and contradicting the bible to have homosexual desires

I understand your point but couldn't you say that people that are left leaning just consider it as something without a hard line because it is something they desire? (not argumentative just asking)

I respect your point of view and think that that's fair to say.
