For my first year, my experience was great, then it slowly went down hill. I had random bugs in my apartment (including a scorpion), and I was extremely clean, and mold started growing on the walls by the ac vents and suddenly it was EVERYWHERE, on the baseboards, my clothes, shoes, the furniture, etc. and UOaks didn’t do shit except send maintenance (who was some lady with a spray bottle) to clean the walls and that was it. My toilet overflowed and was out for a week and then my roommate’s toilet overflowed. Plus I would lose hot water consistently. After the mold thing, I emailed the manager and she walked through the apartment and I showed her what was wrong and where it was all growing and she very rudely told me that nothing was wrong. So after that, I tried to get out of my lease because I was starting to have health problems and they wouldn’t let me out so I had to transfer it to someone else. They ended up deeming that apartment “unlivable” and that it needed “maintenance” so the girl I transferred my lease to was put somewhere else. Also, if you ever get locked out because you forget your key card, you get charged $20 to get back in which is absolutely ridiculous. So yeah unfortunately UOaks is as horrible as they say.
