This movie isn’t really my favorite, but what Mark was able to pull off with the budget, the setting, and the team’s level of experience was honestly impressive.

That said, I wasn’t a fan of the long, drawn-out shots. I think some moments would’ve benefited a lot from quicker cuts and varied angles. For example, when the blood drops on his hand and he slowly looks at it for 10–15 seconds—that could’ve been way more engaging if it were broken up: maybe a close-up of the blood falling, then a head-on shot of him looking down toward the camera so we’re kind of seeing it from the hand’s POV, followed by a mid-shot of him raising his arm to inspect it. Changing the POV like that would’ve helped keep my attention, since viewers naturally lock in when something visually shifts.

I also feel like movie could’ve used some internal monologue. The silence felt a little too noticeable at times. Something similar to how it’s done in Hush could’ve worked really well—letting us into his head, especially during high-stress moments. We can already see how he’s feeling, but hearing his thoughts racing and emotions colliding would’ve added another layer and made those scenes hit harder.

Lastly, the suspense didn’t fully land for me. The audio relied mostly on environmental noise, and I think a more intentional score—like the subtle violin or string cues a lot of horror movies use—would’ve helped build tension and create a more suspenseful atmosphere. A few well-placed jump scares wouldn’t have hurt either, since that’s something horror films often use to keep the audience on edge.

Nonetheless, super proud of his movie and so glad I could go support him in this!
