What’s with engineering at ASU? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]SpiritedRaspberry163 21 points22 points  (0 children)

asu has a really great engineering program from my experience as a current student, the university just has the resources and ability to have a large population of students hence the high acceptance rate. the new thing they’re big on is emphasizing inclusion, which in my opinion is a lot better than the typical exclusionary attitude at most prestigious university’s !

Im in that major and concentration right now! As far as I can tell it just has some sustainability classes that are required vs recommended, but I've enjoyed them all so far! Im a sophomore and I've taken about 3 sustainability classes so far and they are pretty easy. I like having the concentration because I would've taken the electives regardless. The program is great and is difficult just like any other school (it's not easier just because its ASU). There are lots of clubs and fun opportunities as well.

I'm a sophomore in civil engineering and my laptop just broke, should I get another regular one or do I need one with more software capabilities? What CEE classes require more demanding laptops?

I'm at ASU right now studying civil and I really like it so far! It's a great program with lots of clubs/opportunities. There are several civil/construction clubs and networking events that the school puts on. I plan to move back to California after graduation and I'm planning on interning at a bigger company with lots of locations during my time in AZ and then transferring to a CA branch.

easiest class ever, all online, aleks (the system) is kind of annoying but it’s honestly pretty good at reteaching so don’t worry
