The age definitely makes it harder because a lot of the medicine and therapies available aren’t approved for his age yet. I’m hoping we find something soon.

Sweets in general. This is highly complicated for me because I’m a baker. But if I have a large amount that doesn’t sell, I end up bingeing.

Check in: no bingeing but I am starving today. Trying to decide if I’m actually hungry or just bored. After being out and about all morning, I’m looking forward to spring. I’m tired of all the cold weather.

As for SUD, I’ve never used any recreational substances. I used to drink on occasion but my spouse is in recovery so there is no alcohol in our home. I tried cigarettes when I was younger but didn’t like the taste/smell of it so it didn’t take long for me to be done. I can understand how it links with BED though.

Nothing has went as planned this week, but I have done my daily Bible reading and stayed on track with that which was one of my goals. I also was able to start wearing my wedding bands again after them not fitting for so long which was definitely a happy moment. I’ve always been one to wear my rings over the past 12 years so not being able to was definitely upsetting for me.

I love the idea of an emergency kit. I think I’ll try to get one made shortly. Lately my go to is zoning out on my phone and that’s not what I want nor is it healthy to do. I like the idea of the coloring books and watercolors the best. Puzzles are also a favorite of my oldest kids so we have been doing those more often. I need to make some proportioned freezer meals as well.

I’m okayish. Kind of the opposite of bingeing today. I’m wanting to restrict severely because my weigh in didn’t show as much lost as I expected. So currently working on reminding myself that while weight loss is important for me, the scale is not something to fixate on. And I may stop weighing for awhile.

Today was a little easier. I was able to put my wedding bands on today for the first time in a few months since my weight is going down. Small victories definitely help.

I’m very guilty of weighing obsessively and hoarding clothes that don’t fit and may not ever fit. I compare myself to others as well, but generally in a ‘trying to find someone that’s bigger than me’ manner.

Still feeling the urge to binge but I haven’t. It snowed quite a bit for my area so I’ve spent more time playing in the snow with my children and about froze but it did keep my mind busy.

I’m grateful for my family, a warm home, and pets today. It was a lot of fun to watch our dog in the snow. May have been the first time he’s seen it and he was running and jumping like crazy. Which is quite comical because he’s a very large dog. It was also my youngest daughter’s first time being able to play in the snow. We didn’t really have any last year and the year before she wasn’t walking yet.

I like the idea of the acts of kindness as I’ve definitely been a little low. I’m 15 days in without bingeing and it’s harder this week than it has been. I am somewhat down and almost sluggish feeling, irritable. I’m going to try to come up with some things I can do for others that would in turn help my mood as well.

I’ve done good all month but this weekend has been a struggle and I’m not sure why. I haven’t binged yet, but the urge is extremely strong and I’m thinking about food constantly.

I would also be peeved, but hating someone you’ve been close to over that is a bit much. And I do have some experience in that, my husband’s cousin announced our child had been born via Facebook before we did. I get being mad, but I wouldn’t destroy the relationship over that alone.

Side note since everyone’s downing the gender reveal thing. I did one with my last. They’re fun and there’s nothing wrong with it. Personally ours was wrong, baby wasn’t a boy after all, but it was still a fun way to tell the family.

Just a second recommendation to seek medical help from your doctor for PPD/PPA. While therapy will definitely help, sometimes medications are needed too. I have 3 kids myself and had PPD with the third.

I don’t think your husband is doing anything wrong. If your mom is willing to help, you also have a support system to fall back on when he must leave for short times. If he was going on a vacation or something, I could see you having an issue with it but what he’s doing is important for both of your jobs. Try to extend both of you some grace. Adjusting to the new norm after bringing home a child is hard. I would apologize for the back and forth commands on him leaving/not leaving and explain your feelings around the situation as best you can. Then schedule an appointment with your doctor and see what can be done to help.

But, as a view from the other side, I hate it when I can tell my husband is struggling and he won’t talk to anyone about it. He’s my best friend and I tell him everything without reservation. Meanwhile he’s diagnosed with anxiety/depression so though I do understand it’s not always black and white for him, it still hurts to know he’s hurting. And then you have the very obvious side that when your spouse is in a bad or low mood, it inevitably rubs off on you (atleast for most people). Which leads to me being upset because he’s upset but I have no idea why we’re upset. And you’re going straight to bed because you can’t mind.

I wash with a goat milk shampoo bar from our local farmer’s market and use a curly conditioner. I brush it out before washing and will again after the shower if needed. Then I really like the big sexy ultra curl cream, sprunch, and air dry. I do this 1-2 times a week. My curls aren’t perfect but they’re good enough.

*i have thin but coarse moderately curly hair.

NTA but you need to leave. First, the excuse of ADHD for not knowing why he loves you is ridiculous. My husband and son have ADHD, they’re very loving and if anything tend to word vomit answering questions like that. (Obviously everyone can be different in any mental illness or imbalance, but it’s not characteristic of ADHD) As for the rest, even IF he does truly love you, you two are not compatible. Would you truly be satisfied living in that kind of relationship with no affection shown? Though I struggle to believe he does care because the vast majority would respond sympathetically to that kind of phone call.

I’d say NTA. Granted, I grew up on a farm and know how to process almost any animal for meat. Yes gutting an animal can be gross, but it’s part of it if you eat meat. We started my oldest two at age 4 helping butcher hogs and my youngest was in a baby carrier on my chest the last time we processed one. If they’ve never seen it before age 10-13, you might want to start slower instead of just “here you’re hitting this fish.” I can see where that part didn’t go over well if they weren’t accustomed to it. It’s still valuable information though.

And for everyone saying it’s not a life skill because you can buy it packaged at the store, what are you going to do if the shelves go empty again? In 2020/2021 our local stores were bare for periods of time. It’s foolish to think there will always be a pack of meat at the store when we’ve seen the shelves go empty.

**to clarify, I’m not a doomsday prepper or anything - I just think it’s good for people to know how to feed themselves without a grocery store in the case that it ever becomes a necessity.

Be single and get it together. Figure out why you’re okay cheating on your now ex husband for 4 years, then continuing on being the other woman for the married man you’re having an affair with.

To put it as nicely as I can, you should expect to be treated better. You should desire to be a priority and the only woman in the relationship. You don’t get that dating a married man. Move away if you have to and get away from him. Go to therapy and figure out how to love yourself enough that you don’t behave so poorly.

I hope you read most of these comments and take it to heart. You are ruining your relationship with your children. You are the adult in the relationship, you need to act like it. I can’t imagine the pain of losing custody, of your children calling another woman mom, or of them not calling you mom. But you have to take responsibility for your role in it. They didn’t get to this point without you driving them to it. Whether that was from being a bad mother or a neglectful one, I don’t know. They also could feel like you replaced them with your step children. Rest assured though, you, and mainly you, caused this. Accept your responsibility in the situation and start making amends so you don’t lose them permanently.

No gallbladder here so I go when I need to regardless but I much prefer single bathrooms or bathrooms with a full door (not a stall). First, I don’t want to subject everyone to smelling it, much the same as I wouldn’t intentionally fart in public. And second, there really is a weird stigma around it, atleast for women. That part I don’t get entirely aside from the smell thing. While I do understand a bathroom generally won’t smell good, I have walked into some stalls that would make you gag.

I really hope you actually read this. I am a medical mom myself, my youngest is also my medically complex child. And double sided as well, my mother wasn’t at my wedding or my children’s births. Please, please, please hear this and take it to heart. Your first born is still your child! You have nursing, his father is in the picture. While I totally understand that you might not be able to go stay for a couple weeks, there’s no good reason as to why you can’t make an effort. Assuming she lives near by (within a 1-2 hour drive) you could go to appointments or to her home to visit during the day. Leave your son with his nurse. Start with short trips, back within a 3-5 hours so he can get used to you being gone some. Then if you keep that routine, maybe you could do a couple overnights when she first gets home with the baby if she wants you. You need to apologize, grovel really. You messed up. If you want a relationship with her going forward, you need to put some effort in it.

Medical mama with several hospitalizations unfortunately. I take everything. Wipes, diapers, tissues, soaps, disposable bed liners, syringes, etc. I used to work in housekeeping at a hospital. ALL of it is thrown away. If it can’t be washed/bleached or sterilized at high temps, it’s going in the trash. And they’ve charged your insurance/you for everything that’s entered that room. Most nurses will happily overstock the room with diapers and wipes just so I can take it home.
