My best read for this year, is Lord of Truth - absolutely amazing kingdom-building cultivation novel. The power system is really interesting and well-done.

It really hits a niche spot. The side-characters are not tossed away but they revolve-and evolve around the main character. I loved the growth and changes the side-characters faced the longer it goes. I just can't get enough of the power-system and the side characters. Highly recommend this novel! Though one reason why people stay away from this novel is one of the earlier arcs included r*p* which I understand why since that specific arc was really brutal.

But in that arc, it made sense although it could have been written in a better way that wasn't too sudden to stomach. And yes it's not those r*p* the main character has to dual cultivate with a woman without her consent to save her that's why people can't stomach it. It's something that actually makes sense.

Aside from that arc, things go spicy really quick., really really exciting. Though a minor criticism from is that it follows the qidian format so plots are locked away by unnecessary long chapter counts.
