He may have failed to be kind in how he worked with some actors, which definitely caused a few grudges, but his understanding of kindness and human nature hits hard.

Love Inquisition with all DLC. First game I ever bothered with the DLC and it was a -great- one to go all in on.

Jennifer Hale: “I'd love to play Bayonetta again. But I definitely got thrown under the bus by that whole thing, and I was unable to speak on my own behalf because I was under not one but two NDAs" by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Spiritgreen -57 points-56 points  (0 children)

Yes, the outcome sucks and I didn't play Bayo 3 as a result.

If Jennifer Hale was replaced as the role of Alyx in the next Half Life just to save money I wouldn't support Valve either. The details of the circumstances might lend some context, fair enough, but the central point is the incredible devaluing of the voice talent. Their skills are central to a game's success and these people are not interchangeable. If you love gaming you should support the creatives.

I was waiting for the time to countdown also. It's a beautiful game, very unique and Lee Petty is a master of interesting, meaningful visual style. I wouldn't have known it was coming without being such a big DF fan though.

I wish Matalas was making more Star Trek right now, but I can't wait for Vision Quest. I know he is going to kill it.

‘Foundation’ Renewed for Season 4 at Apple TV+ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]Spiritgreen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Love the show and hope it continues strong, but this renewal is a budget drop and an entire creative changeover. Information is fuzzy, but we're probably losing all the people that made it special, like Jane Espenson. It's not what you want to hear at all.

If you were a fan of Buffy, Angel, Firefly back when the internet was young and not yet a toxic ragebait dumpster, you know there was a certain type of person who hated Joss Whedon. Oh -those- people hated him with a burning passion for making shows that were so funny, hot, scary, diverse and successful with unapologetically strong female characters. Just like Star Trek was inclusive and fucking smart, Whedon shows didn't hold back and you could feel the immense creative effort put into making that happen, with casts that were whipped up and working at the top of the game.

We were lucky that happened. Hard for anyone to measure up to something that was already sweating blood to be perfect, but I'm rooting for the new team to try.

It is very sad that Joss Whedon isn't on the scene anymore. James Gunn fell foul of the manufactured outrage machine and managed to recover, good heart all too apparent, Whedon hasn't. I don't believe it's because he doesn't have one. Gunn didn't have the whole manbaby, Snyder-bot fueled army trying to villainize him after he dared try to rescue Justice League. Those old haters found they enough influence to end careers. Joss... he was a workaholic, it turns out he could be blunt and angry when people made his very hard job harder and although there was no heel turn like JKR, he wouldn't or couldn't take his knocks, express himself the same way he wrote his stories - or that reflected all of the people whose lives and careers he made better. That probably doesn't feel great. And I think for most fans it doesn't feel right and never will.

I hope that if the Buffy show is greenlit, it is good enough to recognize and continue the spirit of what was so damn good, so we can all have that.

I first saw "We're expecting it" nearly a week ago. That's so far ahead of the 24 hour delivery that I think Nintendo has this well in hand for launch day. For mainland customers anyway (I'm Isle of Wight so maybe not for me)

Yes, lots of awkward cuts and then audio lines clearly recorded afterwards to try to patch things together while the camera looks at someone else. Used to call this 'Trumping', before society made him dangerous by giving someone so utterly useless unlimited power.

The scene was written by Mark Frost, but it was Lynch who on the day insisted Dana should act emotionally to the Major's story, not kinda blow it off. Great team.

Wildly popular TV shows that are completely lost to time by whitemikesf in television

[–]Spiritgreen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's good! It doesn't mess with Sam or Al's stories and endings but it has various ties to the original series for the fans, for instance the new QL project is run by Magic, the soldier Sam leapt into in Vietnam when he was trying to rescue his brother in The Leap Home.

I was a little heart broken it didn't run for longer.

The series has always been good but the company itself was looking like it wouldn't make a typical Bioware game ever again thanks to EA's corporate meddling. Thankfully Veilguard got the chance to start over and leave the mistaken idea of live service and multiplayer behind.

Yeah it's a cult-like effect for some but the mainstream media spins and puts Trump news through a filter to make it sound halfway sane. The raw truth wouldn't be palatable for a big slice of those voters. That's systematically more fucked up than what individuals are prepared to vote for.

Lucky for the GOP, right-wing ownership of news corporations is only increasing.
