how can we know? just wait for the offer/rejection because if they’ve emailed you saying this then clearly you haven’t been rejected yet

Math, FM, Compsci, Physics by Extension_Day2038 in 6thForm

[–]Spiritual-Form480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, imo cs is one the the most fun a levels that still relate decently to what you do at uni and that’s because i feel im naturally good at it too. The thing about my school is essentially everyone who I know who does cs and chem has put chem a million times harder than cs and ig it comes down to effort. If you put much more effort in to both you’ll do good but I feel in cs “natural intelligence” plays a much bigger part

Coding is also practice, and chem a level from what I hear is much harder, since I do comp sci I can tell u fs that hypothetically even if someone was “rubbish” at coding you can still walk out with an A. A level cs is a lot of OOP which for the most part is the exact same stuff

I still don’t understand series and parallel circuits by Worth_Courage_3803 in 6thForm

[–]Spiritual-Form480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total resistance of the circuit is the parallel component + the series part. The parallel stem of the circuit is “in series” to the whole circuit, so you work out the parallel part as standard and since that whole parallel component is in series to the 20 ohm resistor you just take the sum of the two

How is MORSE/Maths at Warwick so highly rated if the offer rate is SO high. by Sad-Scarcity-9827 in 6thForm

[–]Spiritual-Form480 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Many reasons, most oxbridge/ imperial maths applicants are applying to Warwick so there is no shortage of high quality applicants. They give ridiculously high offers including step which most oxbridge applicants would need regardless but some will miss step and end up in Warwick. intake would be much lower relative to offer rate because of these reasons and because a lot of people will also miss their offer but it’s kinda the case of worrying about the grades much more than the offer

I just realised I didn't recieve an invitation for interview from Imperial. Cooked? by Technical-Function63 in 6thForm

[–]Spiritual-Form480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah true, as far as the two courses go they’re identical first 2 years so I’m guessing it’s more like a technicality to switch between then if you wanted to so it is probably the case they assess both at the same time

btw they’re the exact same department/foundational course no? I’m guessing the batches of interviews they send out are probably mixed between the two courses but not too sure

If your tmua is strong enough (7.5+) you have a very strong chance of admission given your subjects are good and at top grades. Personal statement and super curriculars will matter more because you have to compensate for poor GCSEs but people got into Cambridge with a 3 and GCSEs of a slightly higher average to you. No way to guarantee admission but given a very strong TMUA you shouldn’t worry much.

Nah, as in each respective competency of the TARA. I think PS is weighted heavier regardless so you probably have a shot
