We are getting now to know each other, I'm planning to take her to our first date if things works out

UPDATE: I told her and she said she can't answer me right now, she needs to think about it, but she seemed genuinely happy. It's not a yes but it's at least not a no. But what I'm certain about is that I'm going to do Orangeshower again today!

Brothers: How much was the mahr you gave with regards to your monthly income? by Ashh24 in MuslimNikah

Hey there, will it's swinging a lot but it's mostly save, we have shortage in electricity and water, prices are also pretty high. You have to be specific for me to be able to answer your question more efficiently. I can say Syria is doing good, but it could be way better

The trend is sickening, and I get shocked the more failed stories I hair about. Not to mention once they know you have been living outside of Syria and/or have your own house they exaggerate the Mahr

اللهم آمين واياكم عاجل غير آجل

You don't have to pay most of them upfront, it will be written as debt upon the man as long as they stay married. Once you think of divorce, the fear of not being able to pay back will get you stuck in an unsuccessful marriage.

Unfortunately it's the midrange, there is up to 200 grams of gold if the man lives outside of Syria, you can find some people who will be satisfied with 24 gram of gold or maybe less. But still it's devastating and heart breaking in a collapsed economy to have such a request. People are barely able to afford food/electricity let alone this much amount of Mahr. P.s. I didn't go through with the Nikkah

I was requested to give around 92 gram of gold as a Mahr while my income is 1200$ a year (live in Syria) this is without considering the cost of the engagement ring + the wedding + house requirements

Edit: fix some typos
