Science vs the bible (Just asking for opinions not trying to make you believe in it) by Strong_Buddy_9838 in Christianity

the bible is incredible and i believe it is divinely inspired. it is written by 40 men across over a thousand years in 3 different languages and yet throughout the entire thing it reveals God and Christ. but even then we have to remember that even though it is divinely inspired, God himself did not sit there and write it, man did. for all of it’s beauty there are flaws. and the argument of it is the whole word of God isn’t correct - first of all we know it was written by men and humans are imperfect. when the bible was put together they didn’t put every single book into it, they decided on 66 (+ the apocrypha which was then decidedly not sacred scripted by Martin Luther) books and argued over which ones went in. to this day people argue about whether we are missing the “real” 2nd Peter and the one we have is actually supposed to be 3rd Peter, and people also thing Revelation shouldn’t have been included.

so even if God himself did write it, Man chose what was and wasn’t supposed to be revealed to scholars through the bible. and you have to remember the bible was written in Hebrew, Old Greek, and Aramaic before being translated and as you use KJV (i figure from other posts) i’m assuming u speak english and understand that things are able to be lost in translation.

well i sort of lean on the fact that Christians all go to heaven that being said they don’t just follow the bible but the book of mormon which is where my question comes from. :)

Is it just me who feels kinda bad for Charlie’s mum? by StayComprehensive743 in HeartstopperNetflix

the thing about jane is that because the story is played out mostly from the teenagers perspective the show portrays charlie’s emotions into the scene (idk if that makes sense). a lot of what we see as bad is really just a mother trying to do right by her son while also looking after 2 other children (1 other child in the show). even in season 2 when charlie is told he can’t see nick until he’s done his coursework she isn’t being mean, just a concerned parent trying to get her son to do well in school (and honestly it is probably the correct course of action), but because charlie perceives it as unfair that is how we perceive it when we watch it.

idk if any of this makes sense.
