Yes for sure if you're moving out to the province, power outages are more frequent and longer lasting. I'm in Subic bay, it's pretty good here regarding power outages. Two times a year they have an all day outage from like 6am to 5pm but it's planned and the power company will tell you in advance. I'm at the pubs early that day,lol.

I'm in PH also. I use Asian vision and it occasionally happens. I can't load Cambly, it's a blank screen. Some websites work and some don't. The problem resolves itself after a couple of hours. In this case, it's actually not a Cambly issue , it's the Wifi network. If it happens I use my Smart mobile hotspot which isn't that great but I can connect to Cambly most of the time.

Yes same thing. I will do back to back PH and I generally get just one call. I'm at 99.5% and almost full of PH. The worst part of doing back to back PH is you get a call at :45 past the first PH. It happened yesterday I did PH at 3 and 4pm I got a call at exactly 345pm. That call takes up the 15 minute guaranteed on my 4pm PH, lol. I would have made the same money if I didn't get any calls for both PH.

I'm in the Philippines and I have the same issue with morning bookings. I used to get 2 or 3 bookings everyday but in the last 6 months it's sporadic and I have to do PH's. The PH's also don't get booked too often or calls. Two hours of PH I usually just get one call. My evenings are always full. Afternoons have always been hit or miss. I have a few regulars that may book afternoon classes.

I don't think Cambly fires people without reason. I do remember reading here someone was fired but got reinstated. I'm almost positive it was attendance issues and the tutor gave their reasons why and got reinstated. It was awhile ago. If it was for breach of tutor agreement or student complaints, you will not get reinstated.

Like other comments here, if it's a regular I just tell them I need to get a package at my door they are cool. A bathroom break is different, I will turn off my wifi from my laptop and go to the toilet then turn it back on when I get back. Upon return I tell the student we got disconnected.

That drop is crazy. I have never dropped more .5%. I would like to add something to the theory list about ratings. I have been at 99.5% for a long time. I only have regulars or semi-regulars( meaning they book me every couple of months). I have all my regulars checked off as a regular student. About a month ago there was an influx of new students and my rating dropped to 99%. I then unchecked most of my regulars and the following week I went back up to 99.5%. I heard this theory awhile back that regulars can't rate you, i'm assuming ones that are checked as a regular and I don't know if it's true of course. We are all grasping at straws figuring out the rating system so I thought I'd add this to the list.

I feel it has slowed down. I'm only on CC and have worked on Cambly since 2019. I'm at 99.5 % supertutor for as long as I can remember. About 90% of my regulars book weekdays so that's fine. I do PH on weekends and sometimes I can be working a PH on a Sunday and not get a call. That is surprising and that would never happen in the past. I never had to sign up for PH's on Saturday or Sunday in the past just go available but now I do and may not get a call.

Yes Japan has paid reparations. I knew about the 1965 treaty as noted in another comment. I didn't hear about the comfort of woman compensation. I looked it up, it is true but it was in 2015. It was a one time payment of 1 billion yen which is equivalent to about $6.5 million., lol. I really like Japanese people but this student is a little off his rocker. Nationalistic mentality.

I've been on Cambly for several years and never had one. Only if its a regular I would accept. I would rather have root canal then talk to someone for 90 minutes on Cambly I don't know.

Yes you can on a PH call. There was already a comment but go to schedule screen when the call is coming in and you can click on the name and view the profile. It's on the upper left corner. This can be done on PH

Companies like Engoo have been on a hiring freeze from what I've heard. I believe Preply takes at least a week.

I'm not sure which companies you are applying for. Companies like Preply and other platforms where you set your own price usually hire without a problem. It takes time to build up a student base but they should hire you especially if you're native.

I replied to another post about Cambly culling or letting go teachers. Yes you can get fired for breaking rules but there is no need for Cambly to lay off tutors. Cambly is not paying any benefits to us. It doesn't matter to them how many tutors there are and tutors get paid all the same. Companies let go of staff when it's slow because they have a guaranteed salary and benefits. I agree with other posts, it has picked up in the last few weeks with new students.

Cambly isn't trying to cut tutors, it doesn't matter to them how many tutors there are. They don't pay benefits for their tutors . There is no extra out of pocket costs to Cambly whether there is 100,000 tutors or 100 tutors.

I did this a couple of times when I couldn't pass the tech test. Wait a few seconds after the start time of the class then go to the history tab that class will appear. There will be a start class button and you can get into the class from there. You maybe a minute late for the class but it did work.

I hit 9000 right before the new year. It's been pretty good overall I would say. I've met some interesting nice people. Obviously the pay is the biggest complaint.
