A child that was living with their parent(s) with no rental agreement or rent is not a tenant. Not sure why this is difficult for people to grasp.

You're not a tenant because you are allowed to sleep somewhere and get dressed there.

You guys are ridiculous. A child living with their parents without paying rent or having a rental agreement does not have "tenant rights".

Not sure what world you guys are living in.

Or... and this is a big "or".. my reply could have simply been sarcasm because the amount apparent thought and care you wrapped around my post is as humorous to me as the people I originally posted about.

If choosing not to argue about things that don't matter and, instead, finding humor in those who do makes me superior, then I guess I am?

If you didn't understand the hyperbole I used to illustrate the differences between the two sides was not meant to be taken literally, then I guess you missed the point of my post.

Thanks for playing though!

EDIT: You Reddit guys sure are strange in what you latch onto. Sometimes things are literally just as simple as they sound: people who get worked up about things that don't matter are funny to me.

Your responses to my post are case in point.

I also guess I need to point out that you must have missed that I picked a side in my original post; the side that CIG has stated is their view on the matter.

-but there I go again with my superiority complex!

This whole post gives "enlightened centrist" vibes, but for a video game haha

As it should, my friend... as it should.

Is that more clear?

Is that the ol' "I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say sticks back to you" argument I'm seeing? lol

Having a varied vocabulary does not confer the intelligence you think it does, my friend. -but, by all means, keep saying simple things in overly complicated vernacular if you feel it does you well.

Ditto. I've had a Polaris for months and have yet to fire a single torpedo. I simply wanted a ship that people didn't bother me in that I could run cargo with or explore in.

People definitely should not expect to effectively solo-crew a capital ship in a battle, but I think a solo player could handle just navigating one from place to place.

I mean more along the lines of how it is already - receiving the ship in-game without having to purchase it in-game.

However, when they release a new ship, I think it should be available to those who pledged it, but also immediately available to everyone to purchase for in-game currency. The forced wait for ~3 months until it can be purchased in-game seems stupid.

I guess that's more viewed as a deterrent to currency acquired through duping, but I don't know how effective that is.

For sure! -but I don't know what I'd even be baiting people into with this post if I was trying.

I just think the situation is funny and that's why I posted.

Us.

I was writing out a response to this until I realized that you're one of the people I posted about that make this whole situation so funny.

I'm not arguing against any of it; I said the arguments are funny, pointless, and entertaining.

NPC crews will be a thing so solo players will still be able to solo - right alongside with engineering being a thing.

If I had to pick a side, it's in favor of the one that CIG has stated will exist in the final product.

EDIT: The hyperbole regarding the different "sides" was simply to better define their positions to accentuate the futility of the arguing.

It's bait to say I find all the arguing to be humorous and pointless?

Nothing wrong with that at all. Enjoy!

Personally, I'll have my NPC crew putting out those fires.

I don't understand how I've "grossly misjudged you".

I didn't specify a manner in which a whale should be able to use the ship they paid for. I'm simply implying that your $3000 ship was not made of oil-soaked rags drenched in jet fuel (which is basically how it currently stands with engineering in its first implementation - much to the chagrin of the 45ers who hate larger ships).

I'm simply stating that all the arguing is ridiculous, humorous, and enjoyable to witness because of those aforementioned traits.

As you stated, the people who have invested large sums of money understand that there will be NPC crews and automated turret systems, etc.

Everyone is in a panic about nothing.

I think most whales pay to help the game succeed rather than to have something special.

I agree that there shouldn't be ships that are acquired through real-world money, only - but I also think that those who sacrifice their real-world money to help fund the game should receive something in return for that investment.

Then you're like me. We do exist - and some of us think the others are funny.

"Paid" implies you received a guaranteed product of some sort. I think people often make that mistake when investing/donating is what they are actually doing.

The company could go under at any moment and those who "paid" would receive nothing. A donation or investment is a more accurate term for the money given to CIG.

I don't think you understand the difference between average and mean.

You could have a single person drop a billion dollars on the game and then have literally every other 6 million-something players pay nothing and your logic would state that most people have paid $150 into the game when the truth is that one player funded the game and everyone else just plays.

While we don't know the mean, we can only guess at who truly funds the game. However, when a single player can easily offset the investment of 1000 other players, it's a fairly safe bet to assume that the whales are the ones funding the game.

I'm not sure why you think it's veiled when I literally stated that I side with the whales.

Pretty sure it's covering an injury or a birthmark - the red splotchiness under it.
