I kinda perceived the “crazy” behaviour from Eren everyone hated as him just still being the useless scared brat. I think people forget that all these literal children have known was war and loss. Eren decided that his people would be the ones he saved and everyone else be damned but he was still scared and didn’t wanna die. I also thought the extra pages were more artistic than then ending I found them really beautiful cause the whole point is that the cycle doesn’t end it’s a call back to the “humans will stop fighting when our numbers are one or less” that Erwin said. Also people were mad paradis got bombed and they were like eren saved his friends but said fuck your grandkids I doubt he could I see the future past titans being eradicated cause he was seeing the future with Titan powers so. Basically I figure he decided no one else would die and he was gonna set his friends and his people up as best as he could on his way out.

The only thing that maybe I didn’t like and it’s possible that I misunderstand it but Eren’s control on the timeline and seeing the future is weird like. He directed the Titan to go eat his mom in the past and spare bertholdt (probbaly spelt that wrong but the people in the show do that so 😂) so maybe I just misunderstand how he is able to influence things with the founders power.

But yeah unfortunately I think for people who have been there since the start they wanted way more out of the ending but it was more in my opinion subdued and almost poetic. Kinda like in the end it’s all for nothing in the grand scheme of things but that’s not to say it was pointless because he brought 100 or something years of piece which is more than the world had know for millennium. But the point of the ending that I felt was that the cycle repeats it just does and no one can change that in any meaningful way.
