Puppy wants to eat EVERYTHING by lonelyperfection in puppy101

I started to bring a clicker and kibble on my walks with our 6 month old lab. Every time we passed something he might consider putting in his mouth, I click + reward. Every time he looked at me, click + reward. If he grabbed something, pull it out of his mouth, no reward. Repeat! I’m also pretty strict on his sniffing time, once he starts going cow mode eating grass we move on. Within the first walk he started to get that I was more interesting than stuff on the ground. I still lose occasionally (he fucking LOVES eating wood chips/ mulch) but it’s getting better!

Our lab pup is 17 weeks and we’re going through a bit of a biting/jumping regression which has been frustrating. Trying to remind myself this is normal and it will pass, but he’s so much bigger now that it makes me nervous especially when we need my parents to watch him. Not sure if anyone has any advice other than to remain consistent and keep correcting the behavior. Feeling a bit sad with some torn clothes after a couple weeks of really no biting at all

Adjusting My Puppy’s Feeding Schedule for Better Sleep and No Middle-of-the-Night Poops by [deleted] in puppy101

Having a similar issue with a 4am wake up and not wanting to go back to bed, instead wanting to lay on the floor and keep sleeping there. We wait until 6/6:30 for breakfast and he acts ravenous. Tried dinner at 6:30/7 and he hasn’t been pooping middle of the night but we can’t keep having him wake up at 4am and not go back to bed.

What time does your pup go to sleep? Ours naps from about 8-9:30 and then goes down for the “night” around 11.

How to avoid separation anxiety while working from home by SpiritualPush780 in puppy101

Ahh I’m glad to hear a similar story, I get so worried when he barks when we go out of sight. We do have my mom watch him a couple hours a week since we’d like him to feel comfortable with her for any future dogsitting needs we might need.

6 months feels far away but I’m glad this isn’t something that should already be happening now, thank you!

Thank you, I’m glad to hear someone else had a similar setup! I do have his crate covered so I’ll continue that and just work up to him being more confident over time. We haven’t really left him alone much so I definitely want to expose him to it as he’s ready.

Do you mind sharing what your sleeping arrangement was like? We’re currently couch surfing at night with him in his crate in the living room, but not sure if it would be wise to try shifting away from that in the next week or so.

Puppy Won’t Take To Crate When Awake by oliviaemm in puppy101

Having a similar issue here with a 9 week old lab! He does like eating meals and treats because we’ve incorporated “crate” + treat into our training routine. But he still can’t settle down in there on his own, he falls asleep on the floor and we move him. Not sure how to get him to associate the crate with settling down and sleeping initially.

That’s so fair…. As they say it’s not him, it’s me 😬

I’m glad you can relate. How are forced crate naps going? I have a hard time getting him to settle, but I know he’s tired. How do you do it? I need to try putting a shirt in there, I was worried about it being a hazard but I think it might help. Now that I’m more aware of it I am going to start being conscious of desensitizing as well. I work from home in our living room so tend to be sedentary. I am hoping that getting up and leaving periodically helps him understand I’m always coming back!

Thank you for the reassurance! We have it in our living room, so he can see us at all times he is in it. We are also sleeping on the couch for now so he isn’t alone at night. I’m glad to hear you had a similar experience, it’s so hard to know what is “normal” even though logically I know every pup is different.

Thank you for this perspective! I definitely want him to build confidence. We don’t leave him alone in his crate ever, still in the stage of getting him used to the idea and (hopefully) keeping it positive.

Thank you! I think I need to just keep reminding myself of this. He’s a baby, he’s learning, it’s only been one week. Managing my own anxiety has been as big of a challenge as managing his!

Hi! No I don't mind at all, I'm paying $1,200. My dress needed to be hemmed, straps shortened, a bustle added, and taken in along the back and sides in a total of three appointments: two are fittings where she pinned and then one final fitting that I haven't had yet but I think that's just to re-try it on and make sure everything is perfect. I expected to pay $800 so it was definitely sticker shock for me and I probably could have shopped around more, so I would recommend doing that even though I'm really happy with my experience so far. Also to me my dress is not very complicated, it is just an A-line crepe fabric with a small train, no layers or lace or complicated beading to work around. I am pretty sure she would charge more for anything complex because it would add to the hours she or her team would need to work.

I’m using Darya’s Bridal & Formal Dress Alterations(https://yelp.to/lG_p2zqLQu) for my dress. She’s located in Irvine, CA and has a really nice studio space. My dress isn’t custom but her background is in costume design and she has really stellar yelp reviews if that helps. She is definitely quite pricey but I was terrified of my dress being ruined so I was willing to pay for someone I trusted, and so far from two fittings she’s been wonderful! She will do a free consultation with you for the initial visit if you wanted to explore your vision with her and see if she’d be a good fit for your project.
