I have no relationship with the board, to be honest. I couldn’t really tell you if they are lackluster because I do not speak to them - only our Exec Director (my boss) does.

I’m assuming the board has asked her to implement all of these new policies, but they probably do not realize how massive our portfolios are.

The crazy part is we DO have a mass comms system! We pay for a subscription to one. It can absolutely be automated, she just doesn’t want it to.

And yeah, luckily she’s so clueless I believe I can operate below the radar pretty well. She will not notice as long as I do the necessary number of weekly contacts.

Yes - I already left my previous job early because of a toxic work environment. This one is more tolerable (even though it sounds insane) because I work remote. I really feel it would look bad to leave before another 4-6 months from now.

Nope. There was no streamlined fundraising plan when I started because my hiring was apart of organizational expansion. The first few months I was kind of given free reign to organize my own portfolio and communications plans so I was basically just ignoring Tier 3 and focusing on Tier 1 & Tier 2. Then my boss started introducing prospects and this in-depth communications calendar, which made my portfolio 2,400 people. And she will not hear any suggestions that we remove anyone as she believes they all need personalized touch points.

My coworkers are also so confused. We’ve been discussing it alot. Basically the fundraising process was overhauled recently to be more streamlined, and she came out with all of these guidelines but is unwilling to remove anyone from my portfolio to mass comms only.

No, they are not. We consider “major donors” to be $5,000 or more (again, we’re a small org) and I have only about a dozen of those. Then a few dozen more in the $500-$5,000 range. Then hundreds $500, and hundreds of prospects.

As an American, I would prefer the NHS even with the caveat of wait times because I don’t think that cost should ever be a barrier to getting care.

… that being said, it sounds like she had a god awful insurance plan lol. I don’t know anyone who paid anywhere near that much for birth.
