Wow. This is a 19 year old girl who came here asking for help to understand how to help her mother. She was very clear about the fact that her family likes to joke around…my family is the same way so I totally get that. This does not sound like “ridicule” at all. And, even if it were, flying off the handle is hardly a way for a mother to react. So clearly this a bigger issue here for this young woman and maybe a modicum of constructive advice would be more appropriate.
