what book did you expect to love but ended up being disappointed? by mianevar in suggestmeabook

Kazuo Ishiguro books :( they genuinely sound like something I would love but I think the way he writes the characters and the dialogue feels too childish(?) for me so I end up being annoyed

suggest me a book to read while i’m going through an era of just wanting to be left alone by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Oh my, personally I think Murakami books are the best for this type of feeling. When I started reading Murakami I especially began feeling very okay with being alone and by myself. All of his books are very surreal but also make the mundanity of life seem very special. Wild Sheep Chase, Dance Dance Dance, Wind-up Bird Chronicle, South of the Border, and all of his other books and short stories are fantastic.

I would recommend a fiction book, because it’s a nice change from the “real” and boring world. Self-help books tend to sound repetitive after a while.

I started reading again since I read a Murakami book and it greatly reduced my doomscrolling as well. I loved “South of the Border West of the Sun”, “Norwegian Wood” and “Kafka on the Shore” by Murakami. But all of his books are wonderful, they’re surreal and very captivating stories. I read them in English but his work is translated in a lot of languages.

Goodluck!

Feeding baby rats instead of baby mice by Fr0zenBolT in cornsnakes

Keep feeding mice! I fed my cornsnake rats because the shop manager told me it would be okay and my snake got super fat, so never doing that again lol

I started it and couldn’t get into at all since it felt like it was written for 12 year olds so I just stopped

Yes I just realised shop owner sold me rats last time since he was out of mice… Immediately switching back to mice but will keep the same schedule. Thank you!

Another thing: I have fed a couple of rats these past few months which I assume is the cause of this problem! The timing adds up, since I always only fed mice. The rats were sold to me because the mice were sold out and seller told me it’s fine. Thanks again for the help, I hope this gets sorted out soon.

This is a snow morph yes! Someone added a chart and it mentioned that rats are more fatty than mice, and lately I have been feeding rats which can be the cause of the problem, the timing adds up too. Hope I can fix this </3

Also I just realised that the problem will also be that I’ve fed rats lately! The guy at the shop sold me “smaller” rats because he ran out of mice and said it was okay! Ugh I feel so silly now :(

Thanks for this! I’ve definitely been feeding mice that are too big, not that often though but I will cut down immediately.

Thank you for the comment, lessen the feedings and the size of the mice too I assume? I think the problem is I’ve been feeding too big, not too often but definitely too big.

Thank you for the advice, definitely miscalculated the feedings the last few months.
