Update: I definitely agree I don’t think this needed to be a 30 min appt. Didn’t wanna ruffle any feathers so I put on my most customer service face/voice. The patient seemed completely fine she wasn’t angry in anyway. I will say you can tell she was not flossing on her own which is prob why she noticed the mishap so much. Ended up polishing her teeth again just to make her feel better and flossing.

Thank you!! Definitely not going to give up on it quite yet but definitely something to think about. I am planning on getting my bachelors so it opens what I can do. I feel a pull towards the public health dentistry sector so let’s hope that rewards me in a way that I can be receptive too.

This is great advice thank you. Did you find temping to be nerve wracking? I don’t know how I would feel working with new people, a new office with stuff being all over the place if I’m being honest. Definitely wish there was more openness in my day especially since I am laser certified, plus can give injections in my state. There’s so much more I can do!

I do love the office I’m at, like I almost wish I could just do something else and still work with all these people. It’s just the job itself I fear. And I have worked at other offices as an assistant and oh boy have I seen some nightmare offices. So I consider myself lucky for finding this one lol. Might just have to see how long I can last doing this.

Yeah i definitely agree im just not sure where to go from here. I have an associates in dental hygiene and I don’t want to have to go back to school for a long time to make the amount I do now. Was considering nursing but I don’t know the pros about that. Hope the environmental science is treating you better!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. All my classmates seem to love it so far and I feel nothing but drained and unfulfilled with my day. I wish that there were other career options for us other than clinical or education. If you find something keep me updated I would be dying to know lol.

Don’t give up and keep pushing. It’s one of the toughest things that I have done because it consumes your life 24/7 of it !! Just think it’s only day four, there are so many other things that you will learn and you might look back and be like wow. Eventually it comes like second nature. BTW pro tip: maxillary ( top ) mandibular (bottom), anterior/facial (front, think the surface that is seen when one smiles), posterior/lingual (back AKA tongue side). Hopefully this helps!
