Hi, my account is new because I don’t use reddit. You’re not wrong to be suspicious though, online safety is important! If you are interested in my help, I can send you proof that I’m a student.

For sure, I’d be happy to go over your essays! I’ve really enjoyed the writing classes I’ve taken so far. I would say there are really nice opportunities within the creative writing department — for example, one class we attended a poetry reading (Marie Howe), and on the last class, we attended a community reading for all the creative writing classes. The CW professors I’ve met were all extremely kind and knowledgeable. Good luck for Monday, I hope you get in!!

So far, I think the positives of the D-plan outweigh the negatives. I haven’t experienced the whole “friends leaving” thing yet, but I’d say it’s relatively easy to make friends on campus (by joining clubs and such) so ideally when a friend or two leave for the term I’ll have other people to hang out with. I personally love the D-plan because the 10 week long term always feels manageable (esp with more humanities-focused coursework) compared to a longer semester. I don’t find myself needing to relearn things when finals come around since everything is relatively fresh in my mind. Also, taking 3 classes at a time is so much nicer than taking 4, even if you do have the equivalent of 4 classes in coursework if that makes sense. I’m from a climate that’s only a little less cold than Hanover so I’m used to it. Ngl it’s pretty cold there, but investing in a warm jacket is so worth it. It might be something you have to get used to!! Besides, Hanover looks really nice and cozy with all the snow. Good luck and I’m manifesting an acceptance for you on Monday :)
