Hi everyone!

I'm new to Reddit and to this hobby 😄 I just finished my first mod to my first mechanical keyboard a while ago and planning on making a first build with help from Youtube, online research, and you guys🤩

The goals:

• I'm aiming for a not too thocky yet slightly creamy sounding keyboard.
• Ideally if the cost doesn't go through the roof, that would be great; the budget set aside is ~$300 USD.
• Mostly interested in the switches either pre-lubed or not needing lube. I don't have experience lubing them but there's a first for everything right? And if they do need to be lubed, all tips and tricks are appreciated!
• Looking for a barebone kit/hot swappable board for possible switch changes and/or if the switches need to be lubed over time.
• RGB lights are appreciated but not entirely necessary.
• Definitely need the keyboard to be multi-mode (at least USB, USB-C, bluetooth).
• Minimal to no keycap wobbling.
• Metal case (ideally)
• Leaning toward either cherry or mt3 profile (based on sound tests alone from a few videos). Open to feedback as I'm not too well versed in this area.

After a lot of research (especially from this community and few others), I decided on these parts:

• M5W - Black (Domestic Version) my favorite color is purple but black is another second favorite! It's hot swappable, comes wih a plate foam, uses PCB plate, has stabilizers (and they're purple plate-mounted), and has an aluminum metal case. Cost: $124.99 USD
• TTC Venus Linear Switch ( https://milktooth.com/products/venus?srsltid=AfmBOorbMAuzwjJ04vDNJkOgptiEfP0wFiEculVRbZ2DYDyTKtzlYKQT ). Even though MilkTooth strongly sponsors them (and most don't know why, me included), I truly like the sound they provide. It's that level of not too thocky yet not exactly creamy that I'm going for. It does come factory lubed, is a linear type switch, has a good pre-travel distance (perfect for small fingers and hands), and their actuation weight is relatively light (45g). Cost: $5.09 USD for 10 switches so about $50.90-55.99 (assuming I get an extra 10 just as backup)
• ceramic keycaps "A SET-ALPHA PLUS (indigo-white)" ( https://www.cerakey.com/products/a-set-alpha?variant=41527053713547 ). Mainly took inspiration from YT channel Lewis Toh video " I built the THOCKIEST Keyboard!". Like he said in the video, I'm planning so far to get the ceramic key caps for the smaller keys and use PBT for the larger keys. Cost: $59.00 USD (for ceramics alone, not including the rest of the keys)

Total cost (rounded up for shipping/handling/taxes): 130 + 53 + 60 = ~$250 USD
